August 1st, 23 CLE
Vi came up to the gates of Piltover, which, normally, would be wide open. But with Jinx's rampage, Piltover had come to be suspicious of outsiders. She'd gotten back into her old digs the other day; back in her Piltovian groove. It was time to come home.
Standing outside the gates, she glanced up to see if she could find a guard post. When she found one, she raised a gauntlet to her mouth and called out. "Oi! You up there! Remember me?"
She waved her gauntlets wide, and after a minute (they were probably figuring out what to do) the gate opened, revealing a small platoon of guards, levelling their weapons at Vi.
"You are under arrest, Vi. We'll be holding you until the proper authorities can be bothered."
Vi shrugged. "Alright, alright, fine by me. Also, I'll be having a couple friends you might want to arrest too in a couple minutes. They shouldn't be too much trouble. Where's the holding cell?" She brushed aside one of the guard's guns as she walked forwards, stretching as she took in the sights. Piltover sure had changed...but it was good to be home.
Holding Cell, thirty minutes later
Vi was in a holding cell. Her gauntlets had been removed, and she'd been handcuffed to her bed. But she didn't mind; they had every right to do that. She could only assume her partners were in their own cell, waiting for officers to take care of them...but Vi was waiting for someone in particular.
((The people I took with me from Zaun (namely Andrei, Zac, and possibly Adal; still waiting on her decision) can join me, and except for Zac, they should probably be arrested. And I'm waiting on you and your deputies, Cupcake. Cya then.))

The Holding Cell
'Things have certainly picked up around here'
Garth thought with Jinx's message, which still made him shake whenever he recalled the scene, and now Vi voluntary turned herself in. However, it appeared she was not alone according to the report that he had read, and what he had heard. Was this a response to Jinx's message...granted Garth was not sure what Vi was going to do now that she was in jail. The detective in training entered the holding cells, noting some of the newer individuals within the cells. As he walked by some of them, his eye began to itch. An odd trait that it picked up, and it only itched in the presence of other Zaunite made equipment. He remembered that a few others had gotten arrested, perhaps one of them was Zaunite. Eventually, he stopped at the cell that belonged to the pink haired enforcer. His eyes looked her up and down, he had seen her a couple times on the streets, but never did he actually speak to her. Heck, she was probably wondering who he was. However, what he had heard about her seemed to be partially confirmed by her appearance. Granted, until she opened her mouth and spoke to him, he would not know if what they said was true.
As he started at her, impassive for the most part, he could not help, but find the current situation so.....wrong. Vi was one of the good guys right? Granted, she had her own way of doing things, that Garth did not quite agree with, but she was still a hero of Piltover. After all, they made her a champion for a reason, right? Then again....he heard that Jinx was supposedly a champion too. Maybe later on in life, he would look back and consider this moment a lesson. A lesson that you never know who is "good" and who is "evil". A lesson that you never know what someone will do. There were two questions he wanted to ask, but he would not. At least not until Caitlyn had arrived, however perhaps informal questions were still okay.
Garth expected Caitlyn to partially scold him for not waiting for her, but regardless he could not help his curiosity. He would stand there for a few silent minutes, just observing her, before simply asking. "So....what did you think of Zaun?" He was rather quite, so if she did not hear the question, he would simply repeat it. He was curious of her answer, and he seemed to focus on her as he waited for her reply. He was admittedly curious as to what she thought about Zaun, perhaps she would connect his eye and Zaun together. Then again....he heard from the other officers that Vi was more of the brawns, while Caitlyn was the brains.

Vi simply stared down Garth as he came in. She had no clue as to who this guy was, but from his appearance, she assumed he was some new recruit. An augmented one, at that. "I don't know. I bet you have an opinion on the place, though. I'm not thick; Piltover doesn't hand out augments like that eye. You didn't like it there, innit that right?"
She leaned back a bit on the bed she'd been given. "Look, I bet you think you're mighty precious trying to coax something outta me, but c'mon. You honestly think I'd answer a single question some boot-scrubbing intern asked me? You can try and ask me more, but I'll only answer to Caitlyn." She gave him a sneer. "If you're supposed to've been my replacement, Cupcake must be goin' crazy thinking a shrimp like you's close enough."

As Vi was speaking, the sound of boots could be heard down the hall.
Caitlyn received the message of Vi's arrival a couple of hours back but she couldn't face her. In her mind, Vi was a criminal. Vi betrayed her and Piltover. Not only she murdered someone, but she also fled when Caitlyn tried to reason with her. Under her orders, Vi and her friends were put in high-alert, dangerous criminals complex. Together with Graves, she was the second champion under the tag of criminal in Piltover.
Caitlyn's mind was filled with many emotions and thoughts at that moment. The most dominant ones were sadness and regret- regretting that she didn't just shoot Vi. The mere thought of facing her former friend as a criminal hurt her.
Caitlyn left her rifle and her hat in the office parts of the complex, just to be sure in case her temper gets the best of her. She stopped just before Vi's cell, she couldn't see her. Garth could, however.
"You will treat my student with respect, murderer." Caitlyn spat the word 'murderer' out. Her tone was cold and stern. Distant as possible. "Garth, I specifically said that no one is to see her. You are relieved, go perform your duties." Even to Garth, Caitlyn's voice was cold and bitter. The color was sapped from her emotions. She could only see the one thing she didn't want to, and that made her angry.
"You shouldn't have returned here, Vi." Caitlyn said, a nasty frown on her face.

Andrei had been following shortly behind Vi when she was arrested, and soon after he was too. It had taken most of his self control not to attack the guards when they asked for his weapons. Handing in his prototype rifle, handgun and retractable blade he was asked to remove his armor too. That he didn't agree on. After some yelling at the guards he was forced to remove it anyway. He didn't like it. Here he was with one intention, to help and yet he was treated like a terrorist.
After some time he found himself in a holding cell, at least they were comfier than those in Demacia. They had tried to cuff him to the bed, but due to his robotic arm he had just snapped the handcuffs when they had left him. He was now walking around his cell, "IS THIS WHAT I GET FOR TRYING TO HELP? BULLSHIT!" he shouted out. Obviously very annoyed with how the situation had turned out.

Vi smiled as Caitlyn. "Aw, c'mon, Cupcake. Don't be angry." She leaned back a bit, pulling at the cuff on the bed a bit. With a small frown, she turned to Cait again. "Uh, got a key? Please? No? Okay then." She then went back to chilling on the bed.
"You know, Caitlyn, I didn't have much choice." She idly checked her nails, adjusting her hair a bit. "I just heard you got Jinxed up, if you catch my drift. Couldn't sit here and watch the city burn." With a sigh, she adjusted herself on the bed. "I just want to help, and so does that bloke in the next room over. I...know a few things about Jinx. You'll need my help to deal with her. If you want to put me on death row, though." She shrugged and flopped on her bed. "Your call."

Garth touched a spot underneath his eye when Vi referred to it, claiming that he didn't like it there. He frowned a bit before simply replying, "Yes, for reasons that I will not elaborate on." It appeared Vi was also a very blunt person calling him a boot scrubbing intern, and her replacement. At the boot scrubbing intern his hands tightened into fists, and he was about offer an angry retort, when he heard his teacher speak up. She scolded Vi calling her a "murderer", a train of thought that Garth was going to pursue. However, the Sheriff turned to Garth and told him to return to his duties, her tone was harsh and cold. That surprised Garth, quite a bit, but he merely nodded and opened his mouth to reply when he heard another person shout in another cell.
"I'll go see to that outburst." He said before hastily retreating from Vi's cell, and made his way quickly to Andrei's. He found the augmented Zaunite wandering around his cell with broken handcuffs, and Garth's eye began to itch again. So this was the one with augmentation. The sheriff in training gave Andrei a hard stare, indicating that he meant business. Now was the time to be confident and strong, like Caitlyn had taught him when dealing with suspects or criminals.
"Sir, I'm going to have to ask you to calm down and understand where we are coming from. Due to recent events, the city of Piltover is in high alert, and we are double checking everything and everyone. I understand you are frustrated, but I ask you to bare with us while we determine what should be done." His voice was strong and clear. Almost the exact opposite of how he spoke to Vi moments ago.

Caitlyn's temper reached a critical point. Her voice flared out and she was almost shouting. The fury in her tone, as well as the seriousness, was something new. "You don't get it? DO YOU? What in the world am I to do with you now? Do not change the subject! You performed a crime and you take it like it's a summer stroll in the park!"
Caitlyn got closer to the cells and held the bars, still shouting at Vi. "You didn't even say what happend! You just ran away! You left Piltover! You left me! In the worse time ever! Your actions caused people to lose their lives and you still won't learn!" Caitlyn's voice broke into a quiet, sad tone. "It's time you took responsability for your actions. Tell me, what do you think I'm going to do with you now?"

Andrei continued to pace around in his cell, obviously very agitated by the way he had been treated. Then someone came and spoke to him, some punk ass kid that thought he was a cop? Hah. He looked him over and walked up to the bars. Only thing preventing Andrei from snapping and killing Garth on the spot was the bars between him and his promise to Vi. "FRUSTRATED? I'M FUCKING PISSED OFF!" He shouted at him, "DOUBLE CHECK?! WHY THE FUCK AM I IN A HIGH SECURITY CELL FOR FUCKS SAKE!" He shouted again and turned around walking into his cell.
He took a few deep breaths before glaring at Garth, not saying anything else just standing and glaring at him.

Vi stopped and looked at the floor. "...and you wonder why I didn't come back sooner." She stared at Caitlyn with a surprisingly serious face. "You want me to be straight about it? Fine, I'll be straight about it. I killed a person. I didn't mean to, but I did anyways. And then I panicked. Ran right out of the city."
She gave a long sigh. "Bad things happened because of me, I know. I probably deserve life in prison. And I know I blew my second chance already." She gave Caitlyn just a small hint of a smile. "I just want to shut down Jinx before you throw me in prison. If you want to put me in solitary for the rest of eternity, so be it. Just give my gauntlets to your student, see if he can handle them.
(( I hope this isn't terribly improper, but I'd just like to mention that Vi's actions could be considered "Involuntary Manslaughter" which carries a usual or minimum prison term of 10-16 months, possibly higher if the act was committed during negligent or reckless activity. As an officer, Caitlyn, and Vi, should/should have known that. Under the circumstances that Vi was an officer of the law attempting to detain a criminal, and based upon her typical activity, it's amazing this sort of thing hasn't happened before or sooner.
Simply stated, Vi is not guilty of the crime of murder. It was not planned or intentional. The legal definition is manslaughter, and it carries a far, far less severe sentence. Based upon that fact that during her time working with Caitlyn she has captured countless criminals and served with distinction, I could see a judge lessening the sentence to a full year of probation under the supervision of Caitlyn and the Piltover Police Department. That works well for RP too.
In addition, the standard punishment for an officer of the law using "excessive force" can vary from a verbal reprimand, written reprimand, or even firing depending on the situation. Under the current situation I think Caitlyn is already giving Vi a very vicious reprimand, and Vi herself seems very torn up about the act, which adds a beneficial atmosphere to her situation. I have my own personal feelings on the entirety of the situation, but voicing them isn't my intent with this post. I hope this has been informative and can give you folks a direction for solving this without stepping into the realm of utter ridiculousness. ))

((This is a reply to Riven, but also serves as a clarification: Piltovian Law =/= RL US Law. In Piltover, a case of involuntary manslaughter can be made, but it is still defined as a form of murder and thus carries a penalty of a similar degree. What exactly the penalty is has yet to be discussed, but 10-16 months is considered a bit excessive in this world, and so it will be a vastly different length.))

"You can't keep trouble from visitin', but you don't gotta offer it a chair like yer' doin' - Sheriff" spoke a gruff voice sardonically, spitting out the last word as if it carried a bad taste with it.
It came from none other than Malcolm Graves, who'd been locked up for the past few months. For him, the time he'd spent in the Piltoverian jail was cushy compared to his time in Priggs' bastille, but he was nonetheless incensed at the turn events had taken for him to end up behind bars a second time in his life.
While Vi and Caitlyn had their conversation he had sat quietly in his cell and heard everything, despite Andrei's shouting. It was quite amusing for him, the irony of Vi's situation that is. Come back to try and be a hero but locked up for past deeds. But what piqued his interest the most was the person Vi had mentioned. Jinx. He'd overheard a few things about her before from locals and even a few of his contacts. There was even a few stories making their way around the prison about her most recent appearance, not that they were entirely reliable. Nonetheless the maniacal loose cannon would make things very interesting at the very least in the coming few days.

Garth stood there and watched the man before him yell at him in frustration, clearly this would not be a very cooperative individual, but perhaps if offered the right deal then he could get information. He would hold one of his hands in a somewhat defensive position, before simply replying to the man, "I understand your position, however screaming and yelling will not allow me to help you. Perhaps we can come to a bit of an agreement that would help us both out." Garth would say before reaching into one of his pockets and pulling out a pen and notepad. Afterwards, he would flip to a fresh page, and look back to the man.
"You answer some of my questions, and I can see what I can do about your current arrangement. Refuse, and you might have to get comfortable in your current surroundings. However, I can promise you one thing. I am the only one who is willing to offer you this deal right now, decline and I walk away. I will not return to the table, no matter how much you plead." The young man would reply. This questioning would serve two purposes, it would satisfy Garth's youthful curiosity, and perhaps enlighten the sheriff in training as to Vi's intentions here in Piltover. After all, the more the police knew, the better they could determine what to do with Vi.

Andrei looked at the weak looking man in front of him, had not the bars been there he would have been dead three times over already. But Andrei couldn't leave this chance, he had to take it. "Fine!" he snarled and walked up to the bars. "What do you want to know?"
