{{ I know, I didn't say that the device had a separate compartment, just that the hands of the fingers would hold the tools }}
Viktor folded his arms across his chest as he stared seemingly blankly at the man, who produced a checkbook with which to write out the payment that would be owed.
"The price is 15,000 Valors. I can have it all done in three days. I also require direct payment, as that is the funds I will use to obtain the materials I need to make this device."

((Alright, just making sure everything's clear.))
The man nodded at the Herald's response, and put away his check-book. From his side satchel, he withdrew a set of bank notes. Counting out 30 500 Valor bank notes, he folded them into a half and then held it out directly to the Herald. This was most of the actual hard cash he had brought with him in order to cover other expenses - and almost the equivalent of what he made in a month - but if the Herald needed the cash, he needed to give it to him.
"If it is direct payment you will require, then it is direct payment I am willing to pay for the augmentation," he replied, his expression still the same from when he had drawn out his check-book.
Once again, the same man returned, appearing the same as last time, in front of the Herald's place. He simply knocked on the door again, and waited; checking his watch to make sure he had come at the right time and satisfied that it was three days since he last came.
Viktor, having just finished the promised device minutes ago began to make his way towards his laboratory's entrance. He felt the need to take a walk around Zaun for a while, which would also prove to test the tension in his artificial legs to keep them from falling into disuse. The moment he reached the large doors he heard the telltale knocking of a certain client, whom he knew was to come here. Opening the doors, Viktor stood before the man as the pale light of Zaun's polluted sky filtered into the laboratory.
"Ah. Greetings. I was expecting you, but not until later. However, seeing as you are here already, it would serve us well to finalize your commission."
The Herald spoke without even a hint of personal investment, a testament to the effects that his self-augmentation were having on him. One day, in the not too far off future, he would completely his evolution into a fully mechanized person and be completely rid of his human weaknesses. Now, however, he gestured for Jon to follow him as he turned and headed deeper into the laboratory.

The man nodded as the Herald informed him that the augment commission was completle.
"Ah, that is good. I shall follow."
And with that, he followed Viktor into his laboratory, looking forward very much to his augmentation.
While he followed the Herald, his mind began to wonder of the possible dangers of the augmentation. What if it went wrong? What if it damaged him in someway? What if the device failed on him?
'Bah, this is the Machine Herald. He'd know what he's doing in completing the augmentation,' he thought to himself.
He knew there might be certain unfavorable consequences when he returned back home with it, but as long as it meant he could do his job that much better, he was willing to make that personal sacrifice.
Viktor led Jon into the heart of his laboratory, where he had left the commissioned augmentation upon the make-shift work bench. If Jon were to look around, he would notice that there had been no change to the decrepit state of the facility he was in. The damage from the assumed battle with Jayce was still present, and there were no signs that the Herald had even attempted to tidy anything up.
Viktor was no neat-freak, that was absolutely certain now.
"A word of warning..."
Viktor addressed Jon with a rather grave tone, as his voice gained a rather gruffer quality to it as he seemed to warn his client of an important detail.
"Implanting this device and connecting it to your neural system may run the risk of paralyzing you for the rest of your life, should you find yourself unable to bear the pain that you are about to experience. I am a techmaturgist, and as such I have never had any need for anesthetic nor drugs to mute this physical sensation that all humans know too well. When I replaced my limbs with techmaturgical constructs, I experienced a pain unlike any you could possibly imagine. I bore it alone, and without assistance."
Viktor gestured to the device he had made, which looked identical to the design on the blueprint he was given for reference. Jon was allowed some time to examine the equipment, to ensure that it was to his satisfaction.

The man looked around; so it was quite a fight that the Defender and the Herald had engaged in. He'd make a mental note to ask Jayce about it later, but that was not important now.
When the Herald told him of the warning, the man simply nodded, then took out an odd-looking syringe, stuck it into-himself, and replaced it; it was an incredibly-strong painkiller, and the man was worried for a moment that he might instantly fall asleep. However, he merely twitched a little bit, and nothing else happened. The numbing effect was strong, almost overwhelming; but he knew he would need it.
"Pain is something I have felt many times before, and if the result is mostly going to result in the augmentation, then I am prepared to accept it," he replied.
Walking forward and looking at the device, he looked at it from all angles, moving the folded fingers a bit to ensure that they were fluid and not stuck. He then opened each finger, making sure each tool was the correct one; he didn't expect them to be incorrect, as he had built the individual tools himself and gave them to the Herald to work them into the augment he had commissioned, but he wanted to be sure.
Satisfied that it was, he turned to the Herald and nodded.
"It is as I requested. Whenever you are ready, we can begin."
Viktor gave a nod of confirmation as he picked up the device, then gestured for Jon to follow him to another part of the laboratory. After a short walk they found themselves surrounded by walls, save where they walked from, with the last barrier being a plastic curtain hanging from a thick iron bar about arm's length above their head. In the center of this section was a simple metal operating table, cloaked in a simple white sheet.
"Remove your upper clothing and lay face down on here."
Viktor uttered the command without a trace of emotion, but in reality his mind was flooded with the memories of the times when he had replaced his arms and legs. All separate events, but all came with immense pain. When Jon complied and was resting on the table, Viktor wasted no time to get to work.
-------
More than an hour later, the Machine Herald took a few steps back to appraise his latest work which was now connected to the upper back of his client. Although the man had born the pain almost like a professional, there had been a few moments where things looked as though it would all be a failure. However, Viktor's own experience was great enough that he was dextrous and diligent enough to circumvent any mishap. In fact, if Jon didn't know any better, he might see some medical potential for the Herald.
"The device has been successfully grafted to your body and connected to your neural network. It is now akin to an extra set of limbs for you. I simply must thank you for making this request, you know. It has certainly shown me that there may be potential for humanity to accept my works yet."

Oh lord. Oh lord... the pain was nearly unbearable at times. One moment, where he almost cut a nerve, he came very close to letting his lungs out of his body. However, as expected, the Herald had done it well, and when he got up, it was a feeling... a feeling indeed.
The arms felt... weird. Having another pair of arms coming from his back, just below his shoulders; when he moved them forward, and had them grasp his real hands, the feeling was odd to him. If he were a younger self looking back, he could very well have called his older self a monster. Of course, his younger self wouldn't know that he would enter the medical field, and realize just how much more likely he would now be able to save lives. Shrugging his shoulders, and letting the medical arms sit at his side next to his real ones, he turned to the Herald.
"Nay, I should thank you; not just for performing the operation successfully, but for now enabling me to save more lives... lives, which might see your 'Glorious Evolution' in a different light," the man replied, chuckling at that last remark.
"It is a shame that the, ah... incidents with that man occurred... perhaps if it never happened, a more peaceful technological world could possibly have been brought about sooner," he commented, looking at the palms of his medical arms.
He then looked at the clothes he had taken off; now that he essentially had 4 arms, the old clothes would be incredibly awkward to fit; alas, he had prepared for this, and so, from the small pack he brought along, took out an upper uniform that looked very much like his old one, but this time with a gap int he back from which his medical arms could protrude from. Putting these clothes on, he once again turned to the Herald and nodded.
"Well, it has been a pleasure meeting you, and good luck with your Evolution!" He finally said, waving at the Herald as he proceeded to leave the room, and from there leave the Herald's facility altogether.
It would be quite the shock his home would go through once they met him again...

February 28, 23 CLE
Again, the man that had come before for an augmentation returned once more, though this time his mind was far more focused, as if it were on a mission, and the augmentation in his mind this time was definitely much, much more ambitious. Instead of holding odd tubes, he was holding what looked like a pair of sheathed Katanas, his medical arms folded neatly into a small pack on his back. Otherwise, he looked like he did around a month ago, as he once again knocked on the door, and waited for a response.

The sound of the lab's heavy doors open was clear through the dark, gloomy building. A large cring of hings that was faint because of the metalic perfection of the lab.
A medium, slender figure entered the lab. She appears to be walking without shoes, so no sound came off her feet that tapped the floor. However, another form appeared next to her shortly. A large bulky form that walked on four. It had extremely sharp claws it seems as it tapped the metalic floor and caused a shriek metallic sound with each step it took.
Tap, Tap, Tap, Tap, was the sound that the second form made. Then a growling sound, it appears that the four legged form was did not like the place. Suddenly, a normal pitched voice of a woman, not hard and not cold but caring, spoke up.
"I know this place frightens you Sara." A thumping sound was made by one of the machines. "But you shouldn't be afraid. The Herald does not harm others unless provoked. We should be fine." The two forms, the four legged one and the two legged one that sounded like a teenaged girl, crossed the Laboratory until they reached the entrance to the heart of the building. "Should we knock?" The girl asked the four legged creature. The creature gave a growling sound, like an approval of sort. "Okay."

The girl knocked on the doors.
The girl's trek through the laboratory was met with no resistance, nor interference. There was virtually no sign of any life other than herself and her entourage. The variety of machines left throughout the facility made a variety of noises as they functioned - some of them hummed gently, crackling came from others, and yet others simply clanked repeatedly in almost a musical rhythm. Ultimately, however, there was not a single person - either alive or mostly - to be met until she reached the furthest in the laboratory she could go.
Where they found themselves, a faded sign hung over the doorway, the letters worn out to almost be unreadable - "Manager's Office" could be barely made out, if the girl were to read the script. She might have the opportunity to notice this sign after having knocked on the doors, for a long moment passed afterward where there was simply deathly silence. No sounds came from within the office, nor anywhere else but the working machinery in the laboratory. One minute passed, then another, and it almost seemed a though the former warehouse had been abandoned by its tenant....until a faint thunk resounded from within the enclosed room, then footsteps seemed to approach the door.
Finally, the girl was met with the Machine Herald himself, looking as he always did, no different from his appearance on the Fields of Justice. The augmented Zaunited, who was quite taller than her, peered down at the girl with his masked visage devoid of expression. His gaze seemed as though it was piercing through her, as he maintained the visual contact for a long moment, until he finally spoke. "Your attire reveals your status as a foreigner, young one, and I can only imagine how far you may have traveled to see me. But, seeing as you have, you have my attention. What business do you have with I, Viktor, the Machine Herald?" His tone was stoic, serious and devoid of any personal investment. It was rather monotonous, as though he lacked any capacity for enthusiasm.

The sight of the part metallic man did not startle Narra. She has shown no emotions while the figure before her spoke... But at the moment he said his name, she gave out a slight smile.
The beast that was walking next to her disappeared from sight, probably went deeper into the ever active lab. A small butterfly can be seen in the dim light on the girl's shoulder, its colour rustic gold and it appeared to like the similar colour of the room, and some of the body of the person that was standing before him.
The girl looked at the taller mechanical man with a smile, she proceeded to unsheath the large sword that she was carrying, the whole weapon seems larger than her. The long, sharp, blade glimmed in the dim light of the passage. After a few seconds she sheathed the blade and held it in her right hand.
"You're Viktor then hmm..." The girl seemed to study him, her eyes seeing every little detail in the man's mechanic image. "...Not as intimidating as I thought. It is nice to meet you." The girl said in a rather cheerful voice that did not seem to justify her appearence, nor did the smile that was on her face could tell something about the sadness in her eyes. "My name is Narra. This little guy here..." She put her finger on her shoulder and the butterfly flew to it, landing on it. "...His name is Savion. I think he is happy with this lab, its the same colour as him." Narra put down the butterfly on her shoulder and tilted her head with a smile. "Anyway, I've heard you could do anything... from perfecting living beings, to doing inferior things like upgrading equipment with superb ease and quality.... I have a request for you. I would gladly pay and I do not think you lack any... spare material." She glances around the lab, seeing a lot of frail metal and spare parts.
Suddenly, Narra remembered something "Oh, if you find an extra large cat around here, its mine."

Viktor's expressionless visage shifted its attention to the elongated sword as the girl before him, introducing herself as Narra, brought it forward. Its length was impressive, and its aesthetic made it seem with 99% certainty that it was an Ionian styled weapon. Such a fact didn't matter to the Herald, however, as the girl then went on to introduce the tiny fragile creature that accompanied her - which was named Savion.
The Machine Herald said nothing, instead choosing to listen intently to the young woman's words. His reputation preceded him, which was not really a surprise, as she had heard of his capabilities and made it clear that she desired his services. This itself was a good thing, as the more clients he successfully managed to cater to the more his status would improve, until the people of Valoran would see his brilliance and perhaps consider his appeals of integrating one's body with technology.
Viktor gave a simple nod at Narra's request. "You have heard correctly. I can indeed do anything from augmenting an individual with artificial substitutes for their anatomy or even vastly enhance an existent weapon's functionality." He then extended his right hand, palm facing upward, as if expecting her to place something upon it. "The only question, then, I ask of you is what, if any, conditions do you require of my improvement of this blade?" The inquiry was simple and professional enough, as Viktor sought to know the details of the nature of the service he was asked for.
