23rd of July, 23 CLE.
The Hadoi village, a beautiful and flourishing village that was stained with blood and left with the scars of the atrocities that occurred a few months back. It was said that the village was the one who assaulted the Order of Shadows and thus turned this place to a bloody battleground. However, Irelia was not the type of person to rely on outside sources, she wanted to hear the story with her very own ears and see what exactly happened in this village. The Captain marched in towards the village, followed by five highly trained elite soldiers that are more known as her Guards and her superior who was also accompanied by five of his top men.
Her eyes were filled with determination and ruthlessness, and the villagers gazed at her in awe as they saw the Captain of the Ionian Guard march in with her men. Whispers could be heard from every direction as the villagers spoke to each other, surprised by this unexpected visit of an Ionian champion who also happened to be one of the main symbols of Ionia's liberation; A woman who fought for freedom and peace to repel the invaders who tried to conquer long ago the beautiful state.
A woman stood up from her seat and walked towards the Captain, bowing down as a sign of respect before she finally spoke to the young woman. "Irelia, it is a great honor to see you here and meet you in person. I suppose that you are on duty seeing as you are accompanied by your men, is there anything you request from us?" Her voice caught Irelia's attention, she sensed agony and sadness ringing through it from the depth of the woman's heart.
Irelia bowed as well in response before answering the woman with a warm tone "It is an honor to meet you and your people too, I am glad I have the chance to step in such a beautiful place. Indeed, as you have guessed it, the General and I came here for professional reasons and we wish to speak to you and to the few who stayed here to know more about the gruesome events that occurred a few months back if you do not mind."

Takeo hadn't expected this but it was a good idea, and Central had agreed to it. The main thing was to make it low-key. Less was more. His eyes scanned the area as they entered the village. Even though this was still part of Ionia, he couldn't shake the feeling that things could go to hell at any moment. Every tree, every hill, every bush. Would Noxus or the Order of Shadows respect such a visit? His gaze snapped back to the woman who approached, he nodded professionally at her, allowing the Captain to handle the main talking.
For his part, he did indeed bring along five of his best. All of which were dressed in traditional Ionian armor. Sashimonos attached to their backs, adorned with the symbol of the unit. A bright golden yellow background with a black soaring eagle in the foreground. The General himself also had his own attached to his back, slightly larger to show his rank among the group. His own armor seemed slightly heavier as well to that effect. The men were all equipped with katanas, except one who had a yumi instead.
He listened to the Captain talk and nodded in reply as he was mentioned. If only they had been able to be here sooner. But dwelling in the past wouldn't solve anything, for now they had a job to do. Recon, hopefully more successful recon. No leaving anyone behind this time.

The woman gazed up at Irelia with a sad expression and looked at the rest of the villagers before turning her gaze back at the Captain. "We will do our best to help you Irelia... But bear with us because the scars are still exposed..."
Irelia nodded and looked at her guards, her determined eyes could speak for themselves, but she decided to give further instructions to her men. "Be kind and be patient, comforting them is our main goal. They should know that we will never let them down." The guards nodded in response and each one of them went to a different villager to question them about the event, trying to get as much information as possible to advance the investigation. Irelia stared at her surroundings before darting a menacing glare at the forests that would surely lead to the Order of Shadows' temple. She tried to pierce through the trees to make sure that no ninja was watching them or spying on them before she turned her eyes back to the old woman. "What do you know about the incident yourself? Anything out of the ordinary? I would like to hear the story from you, and please, take your time, time is on our side and we will stay with you for as much as we have to."

Takeo crossed his arms as the woman spoke. He had only heard rumors about what had happened here. A tragedy. He listened to Irelia give her orders and decided that his own grunts should be doing something too. Course since the guards were handling the investigating... He spoke in a firm voice to the men and woman near him. "Sergeant Kimura, take the men and patrol the outskirts, stick together and in formation. You're in charge for now. Any problems, you know what to do."
The man nodded swiftly and replied. "Yes sir..." And added. "On me you four." The troops then marched away in sync.
He returned his glance to the Captain and the woman as his troops headed out, his attention once again on the villager, adding an agreement to Irelia's statement. "She's right, you can fully trust us."

"V-very well... It all began on one night, I was sitting with my husband and..."
The woman bursted in tears as the smile of her husband ran through her mind, the sorrowful memories were still haunting her soul and the scars were too deep for her to get through the pain inflicted to her; she fell down on her knees, tears dripping down on the ground as they crossed her crippled cheeks like waterfalls. Irelia clenched her fists before she knelt down and held the woman in her arms, trying her best to comfort her without saying any words. A human should let his tears out without interruption, words can not calm her so it is better to let everything out before they carried on.
Irelia gazed up at the General before she closed her eyes and tightly hugged the broken woman, waiting for her to release herself from the pain and agony that torn her soul apart. Even the Captain's blades felt the sad aura of the woman and levitated even closer to Irelia and the woman as if it was joining Irelia.

The General's stance faltered as a hand instinctively reached out before quickly clenching and being brought back to his side. He muttered a silent swear as the part of him that remained a grunt surfaced for a second, aimed straight at the people who caused this. He blinked and sighed as his composure regained itself. His idle hand now resting on the handle of his weapon, sheathed at his side. He watched the Captain kneel down, his features growing more solemn.
His eyes stayed on the two, waiting patiently and silently as she comforted the woman.

One last tear fell down on the ground before the woman finally calmed down and took a deep breath, still standing on her knees. Irelia gently patted her on the back and backed off as she looked at the woman with a warm gaze. The woman gazed back at Irelia and carried on with her words. "I-I apologise for this... I-I couldn't hold myself..."
Irelia gave her a faint smile as she replied to her with a warm tone. "Do not worry, we can carry this on later if you wish to take a breath."
The woman stuttered as looked up at Irelia and shook her head. "N-no I am fine... Ehm, what happened was, we have been told by our leader that the Order was going to attack us and that we should arm ourselves and head into battle in order to defend our village. We had no idea what they wanted from us but our leader was convinced that they were going to, he even told us to run back to our homes and let the men assault the temple... and then... we waited, and they never came back... And to think of it, there's was this woman who I saw was visiting the leader before the whole incident occured and she was even screaming outside that they were coming at us before she got stabbed."
Irelia listened to the woman's inquiry and tilted her head, this was very strange to her and something didn't seem to fit in. She looked at the General and quietly said. "My General, we should find the woman's corpse and know who she is, I feel like we are onto something here... the fact that the story does not fit with what I have heard is truly intriguing me."

Takeo scanned the area once again as she apologized, then rested his eyes on her all attention as she spoke her story. So... From what he could understand, someone came in, warned of an attack. A woman walked into the clan leaders house, he came out in full attire and marched off with the male villagers and never returned. But the question was why. They were just peasants, wouldn't they have routed after losing that many? He read the casualty reports and even then. Usually someone comes back. Would have been good to know exactly what happened during the fight. Plus apparently some of the Order had attacked the village so, they weren't wrong... Right? So did they really need protection or was this brought on themselves. He couldn't forget the woman mentioned, stabbed to death... Was their any other casualties? Was she just unlucky? Were they tying up loose ends? Hmm...
His brow furrowed in deep thought before being drawn out of it by Irelia. His head tilted to listen to her closely. Once she finished he added on. "We should also find out what happened to the attacking ninja, I only heard rumors anyway but... It's too bad the battle itself didn't happen farther out or that we had some survivors from it who were from the village. I'm still surprised none came back. You know the casualties right?"

Irelia took a deep breath and nodded as she listened to the General; Any person would realise that the pieces of the puzzle just don't match and that something was truly wrong with the whole incident. She also remembered what was written in Shen's letter and the Ninja said the exact same thing as what the General said, and she was pretty sure that the General knew who this would benefit in the end if all of their hypothesis were true. But they had to find more evidence to fill up the portfolio and this is why they were here. The Captain looked at her guards and decided to call them up to investigate the outskirts of the village and even go a bit deeper into the forest to see if there is anything there.
"Guards! Report back to me, we are going to investigate the area."
The guards saluted the women they were speaking to and quickly joined the Captain, all standing up straightly as one of them asked.
"Captain! What will we be looking for exactly?"
"Clever question, we will be looking for corpses or anything that seems to be out of the ordinary such as weapons, pieces of cloth, anything that really doesn't blend in with nature and indicates traces of battle. If you find anything of the sort, report to me at once and hand over the evidence so that we could look at it later back at the Placidium... Understood?"
"Yes Captain!"
The guards quickly scurried around the outskirts of the village, in two groups of two, looking closely to anything that would catch their eyes and interest the Captain. Irelia watched briefly before she turned around and looked at the General.

Takeo went back to his thoughts, he read the reports so.. But what caused this... Dammit they should have done something earlier. Something about it didn't add up but he couldn't place exactly what. The pieces fit pretty well, but at the same time. They definitely needed to inspect the area more. Who knows maybe something slipped by. Hopefully.
He watched the Captain give her orders than turn to him. He grinned and responded. "Gladly, Captain." He then stopped for a second. "One second though let me check on my grunts." He cupped his hands and brought them up to his head, making a bird call. He waited silently, ears perked for the return call. A silent chuckle as the "all clear" call was given in return. His gaze went back towards the Captain and he gave a nod. "Let's move."

Irelia turned around and looked at the woman; she was unsure whether she should do this or not, but it had to be done for the good of all. She paused her movements for a few seconds, thinking of a way to tell her what was on her mind before she finally said. "Have you buried anyone? And if so, where?"
The woman looked down on the ground with a sad expression before she pointed in the direction where the few men they have found were buried at "Just a few were buried, those who we found nearby, they are probably eight or nine... They're just behind those buildings."
The Captain bowed to her without saying a word and began walking towards the graves of the fallen. A terrible feeling pinched her heart as she thought about seeing the dead bodies with her very own eyes, and from the letter she had received by another source, it was not something pretty to see at all. She just hoped that they could find what they want and quickly take their leave to carry on with the investigation back at the Placidium.

Takeo's features went grim at the mention of bodies. Hopefully his ancestors wouldn't mind closing their eyes at what was going to happen soon. He already knew what the Captain had in mind. Forgive me for what I'm about to do, he thought to himself. He took in a slow breath and followed alongside the Captain, his eyes looking around at the assorted villagers. The General was surprised though, he would think someone from Noxus or the OoS would be here in some force. If they really had a hand in it they would try to stop any investigations, right? Maybe they had nothing to hide. Or just trusted in their attempt to hide. Bah, they'll find out soon enough. At least this was better than being back at camp.

As they made their way to the graves, Irelia knelt down on the cold dirt and kept her calm as she stared at the different stones that indicated the placement of the fallen's graves. She looked at the General before she called two of her guards to come and dig up the first body. "Make sure not to damage the body when you pull it out, and make sure to hold your breath if you wish to stay alive..." She said as she backed off a few feet and looked at her guards as they started digging up the body; a look of disgust washed over her face as she braced herself or the scene that was going to unfold before their eyes.

The General stopped as they got to the grave site. He peered at the different stones, sighing. Part of him hoped their was some better way to investigate, but what else could they do. His arms positioned themselves behind him as he took a few steps back alongside Irelia. It was odd though, you'd think he'd be used to this after the war. No this was different. The sooner they could finish this the better. Question was what would happen if they did find out it was planned by Noxus and the OoS, of course that's if they did. What if Noxus decided to just stay anyway, what was stopping them? How far would Ionia go? Hell, he knew the Captain well enough, she'd probably drive them out herself if possible.
Takeo took one last breath of clean air before it could be fouled but what was about to be dug up.

As the body was dug out, a sudden feeling pumped in Irelia's stomach and throat. The foul display made her feel sick for a few seconds before she regained herself and stood straight again. The body was missing an arm and his legs were badly wounded; it also seemed to be confirming the information she got that the bodies were overly brutalized which completely went against the Order's way of fighting. Irelia covered her nose and knelt down to the body, looking at the scars and wounds left behind by the battle before she stood up and looked at the General.
"This man sustained more wounds than a human can take, and his limbs was torn off but it seemed like he kept fighting despite missing his arm... Don't you find this odd my General?"
