July 18th, 23CLE near the former temple of the Kinkou Order.
J was slowly heading for the temple shrouded in darkness that currently belonged to the Order of Shadows, his bisento Ti-Dez firmly strapped on his back and sheathed he moved through the forest recalling his decision to come here and why he chose to come at night of times. Since he wasn't present for any of the current events that transpired J had to rely on locals and other sources to find out what was going on in the city-state, out of all of them the fact that a student of the Kinkou had apparently launched an assault on their own temple with a large following and managed to take it over. Though that wasn't exactly enough to warrant J's current curiosity on them, it was the fact that they seemed to be followers of the Shadows themselves and since he was a follow of the Wind he wondered if there were any similarities in their styles.
His weapon being unresponsive and requesting that he find out how to advance in his training on his own was what really brought him here, maybe if he were to learn of the other elements that exist and how they flow in the world he would get an idea on how to proceed. This led him to prepare for a visit to this temple and request a simple audience with their master, though he could have simply flown to the temple he immediately discarded that though from his mind, if they had archers they would likely see a flying man a threat and shoot him down. He also decided that it would be best to travel to the temple in the night so that he would be in their element, just to further show he wasn't seeking some sort of suicide mission by charging in alone with no plan, that would obviously lead to a very foolish death now that wouldn't it?
He let out a sigh of relief as the gate in sight, he wasn't sure how much longer he would be able to tolerate the possibility of being constantly watched by the shadows themselves.

As J traveled through-out the Order of Shadow's territory he would find the shadows themselves almost danced and swayed in the dim moonlight. No breeze blew through the trees yet out of the corner of his eyes it would be as though something was always shifting. The moon was full, basking the surrounding forest in it's pale light making the shadows of the night that much more intense. Not a single sound would be heard by the advancing traveler, the surrounding nocturnal wildlife was oddly quiet, the owls and other animals seemed to have fled the area for the time being. Unseen eyes watched from the shadows however, curious about the man and if he posed a threat. It just so happened that Zed himself was sitting cross-legged in the courtyard when news of the man reached his ears. Crimson eyes cracked open in the darkness.
A shadowy form manifested before the gates, crimson orbs burned brightly in a near demonic contrast to the surrounding darkness as they locked upon the visitor. No weapons could be seen on the figure as he slowly approached, the chrome of his mask reflecting the moonlight causing it to glint softly, "You walk in dangerous territory traveler." the voice floated on the still air, drifting as though the traveler were in a dream.
Shadow people follow him everywhere he goes. Looking over his shoulder, the paranoia flows.

As J neared the gate he found his surroundings strange indeed and a brief wave of nervousness took him that made him wonder if this was the natural element of the shadows at work or the manipulation of the land's actions by those who had been taught in it, either way he advanced forward only slightly undeterred by what he was witnessing, he wished he could hold his weapon in his hands as he was on this journey for moral support even though it wasn't actually there and it would only make him feel better. But he had already decided that arming himself was not in his best interest to these individuals who clearly possessed noteworthy abilities as seen by what it was doing to the forest.
He felt a chill go up his spine as he saw a figure that appeared to be... made of shadows with red eyes approach him, this made him pause his movement and nearly caused him to reach for his bisento, but he remembered what he was here for and took a deep breath and continued his pace until he was no more than a few feet away from it. He felt odd as it addressed him and was barely out to make out what it had said, but he received it and responded to it to the best of his ability while attempting to hide the feeling of nervousness his body was obviously giving off to this shadow. "I'm aware, but I mean no harm to your establishment. I seek an audience with the leader of this temple, the one they call the Master of Shadows."

The Ninja continued his advance toward the traveler, if the traveler had been given a description of the Master of Shadows, the visage alone would be enough to enlighten him as to who the crimson eyes belonged to. The shadows slipped from the ninja's form revealing a more detailed figure. A chrome, scratched and worn mask surrounded by a blood red cowl obscured the figures face the only detail being shown was the crimson mist that looked to seep from the eyes, thick but lightweight silver armor encased his torso and arms. Shadows stretched toward the ninja as he moved, it was as though The Master of Shadows devoured all light as he walked.
"Then no harm will be inflicted upon you." Zed paused as the man did not reach for a weapon, a sign that he truly meant no ill will, the shadows around him receded back into their proper place, no longer distorted by his presence, "An audience has been granted, why do you seek me out?"

That was a relief to his ears as he found he wasn't going to be executed or something along those lines for trespassing on their territory, though he was surprised that the leader of the ninja's himself was before him. That confirmed that he was being watched on his way here, maybe it also meant they knew he wasn't going to be a fool and pick a fight here? Though that didn't really matter at this current point in time he decided it would be best not to waste his time and get on with why he came here.
He gave a bow letting his white hair fall slightly as he did so before regaining his posture and speaking. "I am here as a student of the art of wind to speak with a master of shadow for possible insight on my next steps. I also wish to learn your origins, as I'm sure the villagers that mentioned you were missing many details."

Zed's arms folded across his chest, he was curious as to why a student of the wind would seek the Master of Shadows for insight. It was well known they walked a dark path that many lead to inhuman cruelty, was the student simply unafraid of the shadows? Intrigued, Zed looked over his shoulder and signaled for the guards to open the heavy gates. Though one may question why Zed so easily allowed an outsider past the gates, darkness drenched the night, shadows where everywhere. This was Zed's element, in these conditions he was confident no student could best him should they suddenly show hostile intent. Not to mention the army of ninja that lay beyond the walls.
"Then my clan and I would be pleased to have you as our guest for the time being."

J was pleased at the progress that was being made at the moment and was pleased that the leader of shadow ninja's would be pleased to him in their presence for the time being, he wondered what this experience would grant him on his own personal journey in mastering wind and how a element such as wind would blend with shadows. All he knew was that as a kid he was taught by his older brother not to discriminate against the way someone chose to live their life, this also flowed into whatever technique they chose to follow in order to gain true self-enlightenment and simply believed that there was nothing wrong with his current situation of wanting to explore others way of finding said enlightenment.
He gave a simple nod and responded with another bow to Zed. "I thank you for this opportunity to hopefully explore another's way of using the elements."

Zed simply turned on his heel and began to walk at a slow pace toward the entrance of the temple gates, allowing J to catch up and walk by his side before increasing his speed slightly so they would not be walking at a crawl, "I am curious." he stated as he walked, "Many who hear of the Clan are swayed to avoid us. What makes you different?"

J casually increased his speed as Zed did as they walked forward, when he asked what made him different from others he calmly stated. "I always was told when I was younger that one's way of life doesn't make them 'good' or 'evil' it's what you do with it, so when I heard that you were portrayed as the latter I came to see it for myself."

Zed smirked, his eyes raised to the night sky as he walked, he himself didn't believe in good or evil, the idea of such a concept seemed like a convenient way to justify things that happened in the world. Swain himself was depicted as evil by the Demacians, the Jarvan as evil by some of the more close minded Noxians, "When something relies to heavily on a variety of perspectives, then I see no point in believing in it. Some would call the Kinkou evil, killing anyone who tilts the balance without mercy or bias, without warning." He smirked as they came to a series of destroyed buildings, blown up by massive amounts of chi by Akali during her impromptu rescue of Riven, "Some would call me evil because I would kill without hesitation should anyone or thing threaten my clan."

J observed whatever he could as they were walking and Zed throwing in his own words of good and evil, though as they passed by the destroyed buildings he couldn't help but feel curious, was this the result of a invasion by those who would see this clan and it's art?
"If defending your people makes you a force of evil then maybe the world is turning as dark as they say. I have a question, those buildings... were they an act of the Kinkou and their attempt to restore their precious balance?"
Post by Master of Shadows on Jan 17, 2014 0:35:33 GMT -5
Zed cast a glance over the destroyed buildings, their broken remains a reminder that the shadows were not untouchable. He growled, "A Noxian exile came to my lands, spying and scavenging. When apprehended, the Kinkou intervened and caused the devastation you now see in order to free the captive. An interesting way of obtaining balance, wouldn't you say?"
The Master of Shadows made no more mention of the incident, in his eyes he had been in the right. Riven had entered his territory knowing full-well what she was doing, she had come with no backup or without any intention other than to spy and try gather information. Her actions lead to the destruction of the Order of Shadow's living quarters of many innocent students of the clan.

The apparent fact that the Kinkou would rescue a NOXIAN from Zed's temple made him angry, these people wanted him dead but have no quarrels with rescuing someone who he thought he was helping to shut out years ago? Simply madness, what balance could possibly be brought by saving a Noxian who was trespassing...
Clenching fists he muttered "Bastards." Clearly much more had changed while he had been gone then he though, maybe Zed could shed light on these changing times if he stuck around.
Post by Master of Shadows on Jan 18, 2014 0:14:07 GMT -5
Zed smirked behind the mask as he heard the student mutter to himself, not out of mockery but because he was amused to find that someone else other than the Order of Shadows could see that the Kinkou weren't all that innocent in their quest for balance. As they walked the sound of fists striking wood would crack through the night air. People sparring could be seen practicing their martial art and learning to better manipulate the shadows in a combat situation, Zed spoke up, "You chose a fortunate night to visit."
They stopped at the entrance of the court yard, the trainees sparring weren't simply fighting to first blood, but were in fact taking the spar further the sound of someone breaking an others arm crunched loudly, followed by the referee halting the fight and checking it before sending the poor victim away to the infirmary. It would look brutal to an outside observer. But Zed knew the purpose of such punishment and wondered what the newcomer would think, "Not many outside the clan witness the harsh mental and physical training that is required in order to tame the darkness."
Should J observe the groups, he may notice a few noxians sitting with those of the Order of Shadows, simply relaxing, some speaking amongst themselves, some training with the ninjas and others simply wandering the courtyard and observing.

J was indeed slightly put off by their visti stop in the courtyard, he even winced when he heard the rather loud sound of someones arm being broken. He thought that this was the apprentice acting out of bounds once he saw that someone had approached him, though this would turn out to be a medic making sure he hadn't been hurt TOO badly he mused. Yes, if nearly anyone else had witnessed the cruel training these ninja's were enduring in order to embrace the technique of the shadows they would be put off indeed, but to J at this moment in time assumed these people were going through what he went through with his training but in a obviously very different method that was far more... grueling to say the least.
He did notice the Noxians among the ninja's as well and their presence left him wondering if they were here to learn the art of shadows as well or if they were here for another purpose. "I can say that what they are doing here greatly outshines my own personal training for certain. Are the Noxians among them learning the shadows as well?" And though J appeared to still be physically and mentally calm the bisento on his back was making noise akin to the wind blowing through tree's, though it was barely silent now he hoped that Zed and his ninja's didn't hear it. The last thing he wanted was to unsheathe it and be the victim of another windgust.
