Though the journey to Zed's temple had been quite the trip J surprisingly wasn't hungry and even if he was the most he'd allow himself to have would be a fried bee larvae since he was a sucker for such delicacies. But he let actions speak for him instead of words when he didn't make a move, though his interest was now focused on Zed as he offered to teach him under his conditions.
Naturally he was going to accept unless the terms were simply unreasonable. "I am listening, what are these conditions?"

"First and foremost, you do not affiliate with the Kinkou, our enemy under any circumstances. Second, you do not tutor anyone else in the Shadow Arts or speak of what you may learn here. And last, should you disgrace the arts, through senseless murder you acknowledge that we will find, and eliminate you."
Zed allowed his words to hang in the air, his eyes watching the man intently behind his mask.

The conditions were fairly reasonable, do not associate with the enemies of the order and do not use the teachings when you are not the master... even the final condition of death if he were to fail to bring worthiness to the shadows his existence would cease.
"I understand." The words came firm as he said them turning his eyes to Zed's.

Zed stated, his eyes bore into the man before him, studying his reaction to see if he would still be willing, "You will be faced with the darkest part of yourself. Tame it, or be devoured by shadows. The training will be brutal, and should you wish to give up, we will not stop you... Up until a certain point."
