The doormen barely had time to open the grand doors before Sebastien barreled past them, a vicious snarl reverberating in his throat. As he stormed down the hallway, he gradually slowed his pace. There was much on his mind, and the scene that just occurred would not reflect well on his family name. Let Fiora fix this mess, he thought cruelly, slowing as he turned a corner.
It was not until they were halfway down the hallway that the trio met someone other than the usual guards standing at their stations. Sebastien slowed as the man's identity became apparent to him. It was one that he knew very well.
"Lord Daysworn." he greeted, slowing to a stop. His eyes wandered as he released himself from Isabelle's grip. "Adrien, accompany Isabelle to zee carriages. I will only be a moment."
Adrien gave a start as he recognized Devrin as well, father of Queen Liliana. His eyes darted to his brother before he nodded. Taking Isabelle's hand, he led her around Devrin and down the hall, bowing his murmuring a proper greeting as he passed.
Sebastien waited until his sibling and Isabelle turned the corner, turning his head briefly to check for any nearby guards. They were alone for this brief moment. "I 'ope you 'ave given my proposition a thought." he spoke very quietly, so even Devrin would need to strain to hear. He knew Lord Daysworn wouldn't agree with him speaking to him now, but he was eager to hear if progress was made.

Lord Devrin Daysworn was not a happy man. In fact, he could not recall a time where he had been happy, for even the barest hint of joy he felt was constantly burdened by responsibility. Still he attempted to hold onto what little he felt. Except for moments like these, where all he felt was impatience and a sort of bitter resentment. Lord Daysworn considered approaching the banquet with cordiality, hoping to at least come to some conclusion to the conversation he was having with his daughter. But as his Queen too, he could not be so quick to act the petty fool.
Devrin would have to content himself with leaving it as is and had initially left the hallway to pursue other interests. But he could not stay away for too long as the way Liliana looked when she parted from him was burned afresh in his mind. He had stalked back and while he did not know what he intended to do, he could not keep his thoughts from roaming. He had not even neared the doorway to the Grand Hall when three figures, illuminated by the hall's gentle light, revealed themselves to him.
He knew two of them, and cared not for the name of the smaller female. They were Laurents, disgraceful fools. Devrin looked behind him, noting there were no guards within his line of sight but Sebastien greeted him nevertheless. Lord Daysworn stood rigid in formality, the only proof of recognition was the silent gaze he held on the eldest Laurent.
When they were alone, Devrin did not relax but he did nod curtly. "I did." His voice was crisp, perhaps a little louder than Sebastien's own. "Perhaps we should discuss this somewhere more suitable." It looks like his plans have changed. He glanced over Sebastien's shoulder in the direction of the banquet before turning. "I will walk with you to the carriages."

It appeared that even the brothers were only so stupid, the pair finally surrendering to the trade and taking their leave after words that made Lux frown slightly. She watched them go, a soft sigh leaving her lips. One day, those tongues will get them into trouble, and I for one will be happy to see them try to leave it!
With the departure of the pair, the mage finally allowed herself to relax slightly. Her lips twitched at one of the Solari's words. "A sad thing for Fiora, that her brothers are not even half of what she is," she said quietly. "I like to think that some nobles at least have more sense than arrogance. In any case, I hope that you will enjoy the rest of your evening," she added, curtsying politely in farewell to the Solari and also the rest of the table.
That done, Lux took her leave, her movements taking her across the room to the table of soldiers and military. Some she nodded at as she approached, recognising them from her own military days. There was one individual that stood out to her, and Lux wasted no time in sitting down next to the person. "Shyvana. I hope I'm not interrupting?"

Shyvana had been sitting quiet for the most of the dinner, only occasionally exchanging words with the people sitting closest to her. She looked around the tables and noticed that there seemed to be a lot of commotion going on between those who sat at the central table, seeing that the Laurent brothers were sitting there and assumed they were the source of the commotion. Looking over over at the top table she could see that the Queen Liliana had arrived and was now sitting next to Jarvan. Shyvana didn't really know what to think about the King's choice of Queen, though she guessed that they fit together.
Looking back at her own table she turned her gaze downwards onto the plate, some Salad, meat and potatoes. She didn't mind the meat but Salad wasn't really Shyvana's thing to eat, she prefered to eat the meat, not what the meat ate. Shrugging slightly she then slowly began to eat, occasionally casting a glance over that the central table where the commotion only seemed to escalate until the two Laurent brothers along with a girl walked away from the banquet, chuckling Shyvana took a sip from her glass which she had filled with some more wine. She wasn't the only one who had noticed the Laurents storming out like that, but it pleased her to see them leave and in something that looked like a hurry.
Shyvana could hear some muffled words getting exchanged between the different men and women sitting along her table, probably talking about the Laurents and how they had stormed out like that, it made her happy. She sipped her wine again when some movement along the table caught her attention seeing that Luxanna made her way towards her she smiled slightly and put away the fork and knife as the young Crownguard sat down next to her. Shyvana shook her head as Lux sat down and hoped she didn't interrupt something. "Hello, Luxanna, oh no not at all, I'm just sitting here and listening to what is said around the table." She said and looked over at her. "So, tell me, why did the Laurents storm out like that?" she asked with a slightly lower tone.

Lux was glad that Shyvana wasn't unhappy with her intrusion - the mage had been looking forward to her company. Lux hadn't actually eaten to begin with, having been sidetracked by her and Leona's encounter with the Laurent brothers. Her nose wrinkled at the thought - it really was a shame that someone as determined and fierce as Fiora was saddled with grasping people like Adrien and Sebastien.
Her goblet that held juice was still clasped in her hand - Lux had held onto it while moving between tables - and the mage too a moment to sip from it, savouring the sweet liquid. She placed her vessel down, inspecting the plate for a moment. It was fare very typical of a banquet, no doubt made with the finest ingredients and produce from around Demacia - she'd expected no less effort from Jarvan for the Solari guests. She cut herself a bite of meat. It was perfectly cooked and seasoned just so - Lux approved.
"Hm? The Laurent brothers? Well...let's just say that a few of us had to kindly remind them of their place...and how they should treat both guests and fellow citizens of Demacia." Her nose wrinkled once again as she spoke - her thoughts of the pair had not improved over the many times she'd encountered them at various functions. "Those two will get in trouble thanks to their tongues one day," she murmured in a tone that only Shyvana could hear.

Shyvana did as Luxanna and took another bite from her meat, chewing on it slowly as she listened to Luxanna as she explained the reason to why the Laurent brothers had left the Banquet. As she heard that Lux and probably Leona as well had told them to respoect others and guests better than they were actually doing Shyvana amlost choked on the meat, having to cough slightly and choked a laughter. Smiling widely Shvana took a sip from her wine glass and shook her head slowly.
"I'm glad that they left and I'm glad you got them to run away with their tails between their legs." Shyvana said and smiled at Luxanna before taking another piece of the meat and downed it with some more whine. "I met Fiora and one of her brother's in one of the training grounds and it didn't take long before they began to insult those who were around them, then again, it didn't take long before they left after I broke Fiora's toothpick." Shyvana said and shrugged, taking sip from her wine glass. She smiled and thought for a little before taking another sip from her wine.
"Say, what are you doing tomorrow?" Shyvana asked and looked at Luxanna with a slightly tilted head and smiled.

Lux smiled slightly in return, cutting another bite from her meal. It was only after she'd chewed and swallowed that she began to answer Shyvana's words. "It's a shame really. Fiora has ambitions - which are heavily dragged down by those boys. At least she has sense - though I'm beginning to wonder if she inherited all of it in her House." Her nose wrinkled yet again, and Lux stopped talking, suddenly aware that she had been acting much like one of the many gossipy nobles that she despised. Still, she meant no harm with her words - they were merely the truth as she saw it. "It's not that I don't have respect for Fiora - quite the opposite really - it's just that the whole House has always had a problem with their nobility's pride."
Her spiel done, the mage returned to her meal, savouring it and the pleasant company that was with it. She paused to give Shyvana her attention as the Half-Dragon spoke, looking up from her plate. Her gaze drifted over her companion's shoulder as she thought for a moment before snapping back to the task at hand. "I am not doing anything really tomorrow. I think there is correspondence to answer - though I can leave at least some of that with my parents. Apart from that, I have no other plans. Why do you ask?"

With the departure of the Laurent brothers, so departed the only thing Poppy could take part in at the Banquet for now. Sighing, she leans back in her chair, relaxing a bit and no doubt causing more pain to some nobles with her attitude. She moves her gaze slowly across the hall, looking for something to listen in on, or take part in.
The two yordle diplomats on her sides look to each other and nod, they both knew what this meant, and started focusing on the people on their sides. It was better not to interfere with the Ambassador sometimes.

Shyvana listened to Luxanna talking about the Laurent family, Shyvana didn't care too much about them nor did she have a reason to find out more about them. They were the worst kind of nobility in Demacia and that was all Shyvana cared about. The Half-Dragon raised her glass once more and took a small sip from the wine and when Lux asked why Shyvana wondered if she was doing anything she cocked her head to the left then the right before looking at Lux.
"Well..." Shyvana started and thought for a bit on how to ask her question, the wine didn't help her come to a conclusion any faster either. "... I was wondering if you would like to visit me in my house." Shyvana asked, Luxanna would probably notice that Shyvana had a hard time finding the correct words for her sentence, as she isn't used to inviting people nor speaking more formally.

Around them people talked and chattered. Voices rose and fell, and words filled the air. Despite that, Lux heard Shyvana very clearly, and the Half-Dragon's request made a small smile cross her face. She knew how the soldier felt about company and she'd never had the chance to see her home before.
"I'd be honoured, and I accept," she replied, dipping her head in reply. While she noticed that Shyvana stumbled with the phrasing, she easily shrugged it off - she'd spent enough time in the military to get used to the rougher phrases of the middle and lower classes, and in all honesty, the Half-Dragon was perfectly understandable anyway. "I'd love to visit you sometime, Shyvana."

Shyvana smiled as Lux accepted her invitation, it was rare for Shyvana to even consider inviting someone to her own home as Shyvana herself didn't spend too much time in her own home. It felt nice to know for some reason that Luxanna was going to visit her, the few visitors Shyvana had had through the years were mostly messengers or someone of higher rank who only came by to leave a message. Not that Shyvana minded it, besides, if she wanted to meet someone she'd just go out onto the streets of Demacia or down to the training grounds.
"Ah, good, ehm... Do you know where I live or should I come and show you?" Shyvana asked and looked over at Luxanna again with a smile, considering the fact that she could just send one of her servants as they did complain from time to time that they had nothing to do, as Shyvana had told them not to do specific things around the house.

The Laurent brothers had left the three Solari in ill humor, but now that the fools were gone they might be able to speak to one another in peace. They ate quietly for a minute before Leona broke the silence with her native tongue. "It seems as if the king has not made clear his intentions with all his subjects." She said, voicing the doubts in her mind on her mission in Demacia. "Truly. Nor does it seem they all respect him." said Hector. "He is a recently crowned king." Leona paused. "The nobility, however, do not seem to have changed from one monarch to the next. Some will be a nuisance if we are to be allies." she continued. "It is not my place to make decisions for you and the elders, but of what use is an alliance with Demacia to us? It seems as if they need us more than we need them." Selen piqued in. "The king has yet to state his terms." Leona said, and although she did not voice it, all three of them knew that Jarvan would need to offer them something very appealing. With that, they resumed eating in silence.
