Ron fell down on the cushion that Carell sat on. Even though that the force of the hit was minimal, it manages to wake the yordle from his light sleep. All woozy and drowsy from his sleep, Ron slowly rose up and looked around to see Carell speaking to someone. The image wasn't clear but Ron could tell he wasn't dreaming. His panic, however, subsided immensely. He remembered his uncontrollable terror and decided that it was due to his lack of sleep. He sat up straight and rummaged in his pocket to find a small flask, enough for a measly 100ml, and took a tiny sip from it. He would soon feel more awake from the coffee liquor.

Orianna nodded in understanding of Carrel's explanation, and left the furry creature in peace. Soon enough, however, she noticed him become unbroken, awaken from the untimely slumber, and fiddling with the bottle. As the party waited, there wasn't really much to do...
Her attention returned to the Phalanx, and she idly devised various ways to destroy them. The most promising one, it seemed to her, was to drop them all off the slope they positioned themselves on... Such friendly thoughts were disturbed, however, then the men stepped aside, letting through a rather ... familiar face.
- Hello Leona! How are you today? - Orianna greeted the champion of the Solari, in a manner she greeted all champions. But Leona seemed to be in a hurry - scurrying over to nab the map, and go away. The automaton girl did not show any signs of displeasure of being ignored, and only waved her hand as the champion departed.
- Good bye Leona! Have a nice day!
Now where was I? Oh right... What if I used the Ball to drop them off a cliff...

The following two hours of waiting passed much as did the first one, the terrain silent and motionless, with the only way to judge the passing of time being the slow descent of the sun. In a repeat of the events of before, at the end of the two hours, the phalanx split down the middle, and a figure emerged from the gap.
It would not be difficult to recognize Leona this time. She was clad head to toe in golden steel plate armor, shining brilliantly in the light of the setting sun, with a crimson cloak wrapping around her shoulders. Her sword was sheathed at her waist and her shield was slung over her back by means of a leather strap. In one hand, she carried a golden steel helmet, open faced with two hinged cheekguards and a brilliant gold and crimson plume that went from left to right across the top, and in the other hand was Carell's map. She carried numerous pouches and bags on her, the most obvious being the pack she had on underneath her shield. The rest were largely obscured by the crimson cloak.
As she approached, the phalanx finally broke the formation they had held for hours, and they began their return to the mountain. The path ahead was now clear, and if any did not see Leona's approach, they would surely hear the clattering of her armor as she came closer. She wasted no time in approaching the man in charge and thrusting the map back into his hands. "Lead the way." Her tone made it sound as if it were something between an invitation and a command. She did not expect no for an answer.
Carell was slightly flabbergasted. It was all a bit much to process at once. The phalanx was gone, the map was in his hand, and now the champion of the Solari was joining his party and telling him to move forward? He stumbled with words for a bit before anything coherent came out. "Um, uh, yes, of course, kyria. Is the way ahead clear, and, uh, are you joining us, kyira?" "Yes." Was the single word reply to both of his questions. Leona waited for him to start moving everyone forward. Carell almost forgot to do so. He nodded to her briefly, uncertain how to dismiss himself, and turned toward the group. "We are back on course, my friends. We are to continue forward as soon as everyone is ready." He looked back at Leona for a moment, checking for her approval. She only nodded in reply.

James got up when Leona returned, stretching briefly and putting away his sketchbook before taking his horse by the reigns and beginning to step forwards. "I'm ready sir. Leona, it shall be an honor to fight besides another champion." He gave a brief bow and stood quietly besides Carrel, looking ahead at the path.
I will meet one someday...and that day will either be the best or worst day of my life.

Erika was viciously forced out of her long-standing stupor as the line of men parted like metal to a hot knife, making way for one dazzling woman. So dazzling that Erika felt her eyes water and the Zaunite was definitely sure she was going blind. No ifs, ands or buts. Maybe the glowing woman would pay for her medical bills, though she rather doubted it. Turning away and smudging dirt over her eyes, she sniffed. She wanted to sleep, but she had used her sleeping time to stare awkwardly at the menacing spears and wondering if any of them needed the time.
Finally, it looked like they were on the move again. Erika slapped herself (quite literally) awake, leaving an angry looking rash on her cheek and shook her head rapidly. It wouldn't do to fall asleep on her horse -- the stupid beast might turn itself upside down for all she knew and she would go rolling right off the mountain. Not today she wouldn't.

Ron spent the last two hours constantly checking his pocket watch and regaining his sanity. He wasn't sure who was the woman from before as he was still drowsy until after Orianna addressed her. Instead, when Leona returned, Ron spent the time making sure to get some good sleep that same night.
Then, just as Ron was having a light chocolate snack, a clatter of armor sounded in the distance behind the phalanx. It wasn't the clatter of a metal skirt, that was for sure. He looked at the phalanx and saw them split in the middle, like Hydrogen and Oxygen atoms in H2O when applying a current through it. The light that was reflected off that woman's armor was quite too... Bright. Ron has to avert his eyes the first time. But the second time, he noticed the woman. Her description matched his reading on some of the League's champions. 'Tall, pretty in human standards, from Rakkor and wearing a ridiculously bright armor.' he thought and recognized her as Leona. He read some goofy stories about that champion, being the avatar of the sun and all. It was interesting that another champion was here.
In any case, Ron was just about to pack when he noticed he had chocolate all over his face. If Leona or any of the other party members were to look at him, they'd see quite a bit smeared on his fur next to the mouth area. He took out a pocket handkerchief and quickly cleaned it off, then he picked up his stuff and went towards the horse... Only he needed help. "G-guys... A little help over here?"

The techmaturgist went back to work fiddling with his another one of the devices he'd brought for the journey when the call that they were moving on finally, and with a new companion no less. As he watched the others prepare to move on he could only wonder what would warrant the Radiant Dawn accompanying them on this expedition.
As he moved forward he tapped James on the shoulder and spoke in a hushed tone. "You're a soldier aren't you? Getting any... nervous feelings about any of this?"

Now that the initial sting from the insult of this assignment had passed, He found Himself questioning the Institute's motives. Why give such as trivial task? What did they expect him to find? Was there more to this verture than met the eye, or was the Institute just testing his obedience?
Xerath recognized the shimmering armour at once. The selfless defender herself had decided to join on this expedition. She gave no explanation to her decision to join, but instead used her resolute posture to silence the inquisitive nature of the party. Mostly, anyways.
"Leona! Why do you insist on accompanying this group through their ventures? Surely you don't fear for their safety, so what are you trying to hide? What aren't you telling us?"
Xerath was not afraid, or even concerned. He just did not like not knowing, and he knew the rest of his party wouldn't question a champion of the League.

Patience was something Tekun had. He spent most of the time overlooking his equipment another time in order to make sure everything was there. Eventually, he was forced to stop when his eyes fell upon the Radiant Dawn. He began to second guess his employer and his intentions but kept his speculation to himself. Her departure marked another two hour wait which Tekun certainly did not mind. He finished overlooking his equipment and spent the remainder making sure his weapons were properly maintained. It was easy to get lost when working on it and none disturbed him. Leona returned in an attire that was far more recognizable. It seemed she would be joining their ranks for now. He stood and geared up.
"G-guys... A little help over here?"
He approached the Yordle and aided him upon his horse. “You’re becoming quite the handful.” He joking stated. Once Ron was set he approached the bulk of the group.
"Leona! Why do you insist on accompanying this group through their ventures? Surely you don't fear for their safety, so what are you trying to hide? What aren't you telling us?"
Silently Tekun’s gaze fell to Xerath and then to the rest. ‘I know I should have expected it but he lacks subtly in personality too. Figures.’ His gaze shifted to Carell and then finally to Leona.
“A pleasure to meet you in person.” A simple statement before his gaze fell forward.
"T-thank you!" Ron said with a bit of red flushed on his face. Asking a human for help like this wasn't comfortable at all and Tekun's joke managed to embarrass him even more. Nonetheless, Ron was grateful for Tekun's help and with that help, he quickly got on the horse. Up there now, he arranged all his stuff back in their appropriate bags and decided he has nothing to do until they depart, and even then, he couldn't even steer the horse. He instead decided to just lean forward on the horse and take a small nap. Now that his saddlebags were in reach, he leaned down one of them and took out quite a small looking device that looked as if it had earplugs attached to it by lines. He placed the supposed earplugs in his ears, closed his eyes and leaned forward, placing his head on the horse's neck all so gently. Soon enough, he'd be humming himself some of the latest hits in Piltover.

Leona took quick stock of the party she had just joined. She noticed two champions, a yordle, and an assortment of humans, the only two which immediately stuck out were the massively tall man and the morose, tired looking woman on the horse. She imagined she would become familiar with the other faces soon. A man approached her and bowed after giving a respectful greeting, to which she bowed her head in reply. Leona noted the Demacian emblem on his uniform, wondering what interest their military might have in a temple which is not theirs, or if he was on the journey out of his own private interest.
Xerath was what unnerved her. She knew all too well of his power, and Leona was wary of what his motives might be. She might be able to keep him in check should his intent prove malicious, but she greatly hoped that would not be the case. He apparently suspected her motives as well. She did not appreciate his accusation of her but was not bothered by how direct he was. It was something she was wholly accustomed to. "I am accompanying you to ensure the temple's preservation, that nothing be taken or destroyed should it not be." It would do them all well to know her precise intentions for coming along, and so she issued an honest reply. She hoped that everyone else might do the same if asked, but she was doubtful.
The tall man approached her next, and expressed his pleasure to meet her. He did not introduce himself, so she only could give a reply similar to the one she gave the Demacian soldier earlier, a simple wordless bow of the head. The rest of the group seemed to be slowly getting themselves ready. Leona imagined they did not care to wait any longer than they already had, and she hoped to waste as little time as possible.

In the hours that had passed while waiting for Leona Scrod had taken to whittling after he had finished cleaning both of his guns. He wasn't quite skilled enough nor was his large knife designed for such a hobby but by the time Leona had returned the old man had manged a crude carving of a shark out of the stick he had found. Proud of his work he dusted it off and pocketed it before approaching Carell and Leona now that she had returned.
He was just within earshot of their conversation to hear that she was joining them on their journey...in order to prevent them from taking anything of value from the temple the map was to lead them to. Which didn't particularly set well with the old merc. "Wolcraft, c'mere a minute. I got me somethin' to talk to you about" Scrod said loud enough to be heard, beckoning over their employer with a wave of his hand.

Carell had busied himself with preparing the things he had removed from his saddlebags for travel once more while everyone else was readying themselves. He was as eager to move onward as Leona was, and made sure to get himself and his things prepared for travel as soon as possible. He had just finished his preparations when he heard the familiar accented voice of Scrod call for him.
He immediately dismissed himself to approach Scrod and hear his concern. Whatever it was, he would address it. It was his job, after all. "Yes, what is it?" He inquired, friendly but at the same time serious.

"I ain't opposed to havin' another champion along for the ride or nothin', but if I heard n' understood right we ain't exactly gettin' none of the 'bonus' you promised us...see where I'm headin' with this?" Scrod said, his arms crossed.
"I can respect that she don't want us takin' her people's things but I'd like me some sorta guarantee we'll all still be compensated since we ain't gettin' none of our paws on that stuff no more..." he continued before Wolcroft could answer his rhetorical question. Though he was old his memory hadn't yet started to fail him and Scrod distinctly remembered a short clause about a post journey bonus for all hired, in the form of items from the temple or something of that sort. He was nowhere near dumb enough to attempt stealing from under Leona's nose, but he wasn't about to cheated out of payment because some mountain dwelling sun obsessed cults leader decided that no one was going to be taking anything of value under her watch.
"If I got to I'll talk to Miss Sunshine over there, but I wana hear if you're willing to part with more money since we ain't gettin' what was promised from a last minute addition to out group here." he finished plainly.

It seemed he would not be getting in the way of Xerath and Leona; he took the opportunity to introduce himself further.
"My name is Tekun Valos. I'm an associate of the Institute of War and a Preserver. I am here for security purposes and for my own expressed interest in the ruins that we'll be heading towards. I can assure you that I will attempt to do everything within my own power to respect where we are heading." The Immortal Soldier offered this as withholding anything could cause complications later on.
"If anything happens within the ruins, you can expect me to be in front with you. One of my proficiencies is in pulling the enemy away from those more vulnerable. The other is cooking."
