Lipton looked around him, being sure that they weren't being overheard. Upon being sure that they weren't, he turned to face Elenwe and spoke.
"Well... for starters, there's the rumor that if he decides to take a smoke while not looking or talking to a person nearby, that person's gonna be a dead man, usually within the hour. We've never seen him smoke, so we don't know, but we've heard from the Ionian-Noxian war that there was a guy who seemingly killed with smoking. Now, we're not confident he's they're the same person, but they sound awfully similar."
"There's another one concerning his revolver; it's believed to be cursed, for when he uses it he's supposedly no longer himself, but instead becomes a complete psychopath, and one that knows how to shoot straight. We're even less clear on this one, but again, there were reports from the war in Ionia that a madman with a handgun was loose, shooting anyone Noxian - we feel it might just -possibly- be him." From that, Lipton spoke no more for the moment, while Durnfellow took off his helmet and held it to his chest, unsure of what to do.
"We serve those that need help, because we're Medics: that's our job." -Major Lewis
"Sometimes, ordinary people can do extraordinary things: Medics need to do that everyday." -Captain Winters
"In this world, we're a team. There is no I in team, simple as that. We either work as one, or we all fail, all seperate from each other." -Lieutenant Hixon
Elenwe listened to the tale of Jon; it was like listening to the tales of her childhood of the darker myths of their people. How Dervishes would become hurricanes of steely death when holding scimitars.
"...I saw him pull out a smaller... firearm... just as the memories faded out. I cannot see what happens beyond, as the memory is only of the rifle itself."

Durnfellow silently gasped, while Lipton could only blink for a few seconds, before he recovered enough to speak.
"Well, I'll be... of course, we aren't entirely sure this is Major Lewis we're dealing with here, but it seems ever more likely they're true. If that's so... well, I'll just say I'm glad he doesn't seem to be antagonized easily, because I sure as Hell wouldn't want to be his enemy," actually managing a small chuckle at his own joke; Durnfellow did so as well.

Again, it was Lipton who spoke while Durnfellow simply nodded along, although the looks on both Medic's faces was serious.
"Well, usually we're free to tell others what we know, but with these... rumors... we usually keep this information to amongst just the PMC, excluding Major Lewis himself, of course. Now, we believe he suspects us having these 'rumors' about him, but he hasn't been told any of these rumors outright; we're trying to keep it that way for the moment," and with that, he simply nodded; Durnfellow nodded as well.

Elenwe didn't say another word to the medics about Jon's tale, deciding that discretion was favorable.
Meanwhile, another two weeks pass by and Elenwe continues to surprise her trainers. What she lacked in medical knowledge and technique, she made up for with her astonishing powers. Recently an accident in town involving explosives caused a surge in people requiring immediate attention in the Operating Room.
The reports submitted to the office indicate that at the rescue site Elenwe coordinated the rescue efforts, finding every trapped civilian under the rubble of the office building- she was able to communicate with workers, networking them and working in a manner more efficient than even a swarm of ants.
Meanwhile at the hospital Elenwe was assisting the personnel by cleaning instruments and dressing up the surgeons, when she started using her 'magic' again. Without bothering to search their bodies, not even using any instrument aside from small tweezers, she slowly removed explosive fragments from bodies- a process that normally took agonizingly long time as the patient had to be very carefully searched with magnetic instruments, or manually.
The hospital staff were basically baffled as to where to put Elenwe; her 'magic' offered her an unusual diversity of ability that couldn't be quantified by conventional medical skills.

The reports of this relative newcomer did not go over the heads of the officers in the PMC, which began to take noticeable interest in Elenwe's capabilities. Some of the officers became so impressed with her capabilities that they contemplated having her enlist in the Corps itself. However, it was all rumors and hearsay...
...until today, where a Sergeant Lipton has stopped by outside Elenwe's quarters, with an interesting message to deliver...

Lipton gave a small salute of respect before he addressed Elenwe.
"Ah, miss, Captain Winters would like to see you in his office. If you will follow me, please..."
With that, he turned around, and began to walk; normally, he waited for the other person to walk, but Elenwe was well known for simply coming along without further question.

Elenwe left her room after finding herself a blouse to cover up with and tied her hair. She hummed a tune to herself as she walked behind the sergeant, to see what this was about.

Winters was at his office, looking over his papers, when he saw Lipton and Elenwe enter. He stood up, and Lipton and Winters saluted each other. Lipton then moved to a corner in the room while Winters then addressed Elenwe.
"Ah, Elenwe, pleasure to meet you... it has been brought to our attention of some of your demonstrated capabilites in the recent rescue operation and in the treatment of the injured. Thus, the officers in the Corps have had a discussion and would like to ask... would you possibly be interested in becoming a Medic within the PMC?" Winters was unusually brief with this one, but he figured Elenwe already knew what the PMC was all about, and so cut out all the unnecessary details.

Now that she'd actually tried a settled lifestyle, Elenwe thought on the offer a bit more. "Um... what will it involve? Will I still be able to travel?"
She asked the captain. Her travels were still on her mind, but decided that having some money really did make things like travel much easier.

Winters proceed to explain.
"Well, as a Medic you will be required to be deployed wherever the PMC as a whole is sent, as well as provide medical assistance to whoever requires it at the site we are deployed to."
"Medics must also be prepared to fall back upon self-defense measures should they be... attacked, by whatever. Of course, training will ensure every Medic is capable of doing such."
"As to off-duty times... you must only be around the Hospital area from 9-5, and really, you are not required to be in any specific area otherwise. However, should the PMC be called into an operation, you are required to be here as soon as possible and be ready to deploy with the PMC at a moment's notice."
"So... are you interested?" Winters finished with the question.

Elenwe nodded, knowing that in hindsight, medical knowledge counted as a valuable resource she could return to the caravan with.
"Y-yes... yes I will join! I will do my best. Um... so when does the training begin? does this mean I must wear the uniform now?" she asked, suddenly realizing she might have to give up her comfortable skirts and freedom from shoes, for stuffy pants and stuffier boots.
Even as a nurse's assistant, Elenwe preferred the skirt uniform, and despite going barefoot often, even when she wasn't supposed to, Elenwe has never once stepped in the wrong place. She couldn't, not when she had precognition.
