Phi frowned at the boy's thoughts on Zaun, true as they may be. But before she could say anything, his questions started up yet again. "Who they are... no idea on that one. But the 'things' coming out of you are nanobots." She mentally checked on each of the wolves, bringing something of a sigh to her lips. "We can talk more, but first we need to get out of here."
TNS-4 was silent for a moment, making his decision. After a few moments she would see him come into view past the rubble. His blades retracted into his forearms and he began to move the rubble away. The swarm began to move around him, then slowly go back into his body. He finished clearing the last of the rubble and stood in front of Phi. "Alright, let's go."
Phi's eyes traced the swarm as it retreated into its 'nest', the nodded. She began heading back out the way she came, retrieving her coat from the ground and slinging it over her shoulder. Placing her rifle in one hand, she poked her head outside at the men who had taken down her wolves. Phi would fire a single shot at the back of one man, before retreating back out of view and addressing TNS-4.
"We might need that swarm of yours to get out of here."
Once Phi picked up her weapon and coat, TNS-4 immediately became more uncertain about following Phi. Still, he had bigger problems, mainly the men outside. The one that was shot by Phi screamed in pain before going limp, either unconscious or dead, it was impossible to tell. The others each made an attempt to turn and face the Phi, but they moved slowly due to their injuries. Their guns were now all trained on the doorway. The swarm began to come out of TNS-4, it slowly crept along the ground toward the men. TNS-4 spoke, seeming unsure of himself. "Should they be killed?"
Viktor didn't often like traveling through the streets of Zaun, and disliked being seen in public even more. Although he was rather proud of the recognition he received due to his brilliant advances in augmenting his own body with superior hextech instruments, he was not at all fond of the looks he received from the general populace - looks that spoke of everything between astonishment to jealousy.
He was on his way to return to his laboratory on the outskirts of Zaun, having made a pilgrimage into Zaun to order a shipment of supplies for certain projects he was working on, and it happened to be that this was the most direct route to his private research and development facility. He didn't expect to hear sounds of battle in the distance, directly ahead, but that is just how it was. Hextech came in a variety of forms, every weapon possessing a different function although some shared a common purpose. He recognized the shots that he heard, even able to identify the exact model of hextech rifle that half of them came from. The other half were less identifiable, perhaps custom-made by someone.
After a few minutes he came near a certain building, his feet stopping right in front of the fallen form of some manner of autonomous canine. The Machine Herald's masked visage faced down at this curious design, as he found himself unable to identify its model from anything he had ever seen before. He knelt down, however, as he sought to examine the chassis of the fallen cyber-wolf, looking for that one thing that identified the creator/manufacturer of such technological marvels. At last, he found it. It was rather small and seemed to be only placed where it was for the sake of credibility, but the signature emblem of someone he had once known was all too familiar.
"Angela.....So she must have something to do with this scene."
It seemed a waste, to him, of perfectly good resources. He knew not what had caused the defeat of such a magnificent machine, but it was undeniably elegant and well-made. There was no doubt in his mind that this was one of the works of Angela Phious, a woman he had known back when he still attended the College of Techmaturgy, back before he had isolated himself from the rest of the world to engineer his Glorious Evolution.
"Avoid it if you can." While her methods were occasionally questionable, Angela did not just kill people off. Without a reason, at least. Quickly glancing out and pulling her head back in, she turned to the boy. "Take down one, we'll interrogate the... other." Her brief pause was caused by her reaching up to the side of her head, lightly rubbing it. Something partially technological was approaching them, but also part human. And that meant one person to Phi.
The alpha Iron Wolf began to stir as Viktor observed it, a whirring sound emerging from it's chest. It shakily pushed up onto it's feet, the red lights of it's eyes clicking on. The automaton turned to look at the machine herald, relaying the sight back to it's creator.
Viktor's head inclined slightly to the right as he continued to examine the canine automaton with interest and curiosity, which escalated as he heard the whirring sound emanated from its chest cavity and he watched it push itself to its feet. Knelt down in front of it, slowly extending his right hand in a completely nonthreatening manner until it rested upon the Iron Wolf's head.
"Where is your creator?"
Viktor questioned it, not knowing if it was capable of speech. He didn't expect a verbal response anyway, as logic dictated that it would be wary of him at the least and not trust him enough to give away any information regarding its progenitor. Viktor was fine with this as well. Either way, he didn't care what it did, so long as there was some result in the end.
TNS-4 nodded, a prisoner would be useful. The men's eyes widened in horror as the black cloud that was the swarm began to fly around them, the holes that the wolves had put in their suits meant they could be attacked. They tried to cover them, but to no avail as the nanobots entered their suits. One began screaming in pain as they began to attack his skin and eyes, it was eventually replaced by a gurgling noise as his airways were airways were painfully deconstructed and their resources converted into toxins, the same happened to one other conscious soldier. They eventually fell silent. The last one cried in panic for a short time as the nanobots rendered him unconscious by creating and releasing tranquilizers into his system. These cries would easily be heard by Viktor.

Zaun
The boy who escaped from that hell-hole now stood on the very outskirts of his birthplace. He had run away when he was young, and stood a distance away from his caravan staring at the city. He coughed, not used to the polluted air, why did people choose to live like this? Garth could only speculate, as he did not live here. No, he escaped to a better place....a safer place, Piltover to be exact. A place where mothers are not kidnapped off the streets, nor are children experimented on for the sake of science.
Science....was meant to help people? But what did it do in Zaun? Changed them, made them unstable, monsters, or perhaps if one was lucky...killed them. That is what Zaun science did..killed many but helped very few. Something that had to change in the future. After all it seems Piltover had defeated Zaun in the last airship races. Even though they complain about cheating, a most likely an excuse, Piltover still won.
However, Garth swore that after he received training from Caitlyn, he would return. He would bring order to the chaos that was Zaun science, and order to the gangs and murders that ran rampant. Garth almost knew that Zaun would try to get ride of him, after all they were too far lost in their ways. All for the sake of science...he witnessed this first hand. It is how he got his eye and the large mana pool that he had. The scary thought is that his father would have kept going, had his mother not taken him to go to Piltover....of course she did not make it.
Garth however heard a gunshot and a scream of agony. This alerted the young aspiring detective. He drew his rifle from his back and made his way toward the sound as stealthy as he could. He eventually hid behind two rocks and peered over the top of them. A man was on the ground, and Garth could not ascertain if he was alive or dead. There were two others in lab coats, and had guns trained on the door. Had something gone wrong? Was an uncontrollable experiment loose? Or had the experiments rebelling due to cruel or unfair treatment.
He didn't have to wait long for his answer as both the men began convulsing and screaming in pain.....dear god what was happening to them? The black cloud reached them and nothing. Garth did not want to move from his hiding spot in fear, after all that could happen to him as well.

Zaun science is killing far more than its saving. I want to put a stop to that!
The Iron Wolf shook itself, small electrical sparks falling from it as it did so. It then looked at Viktor again before preceding, heading back towards Angela and TNS-4. While Phi normally controlled the wolves, each had their own degree of AI and sentience. Since the wolf saw no threat in the Machine Herald, there was no harm in leading him to it's mistress.
Phi walked over to the soldier that was merely rendered unconscious, rolling him onto his back. She pulled a pair of cuffs out her lab coat to bind his hands, then set him up against a wall. As she did so, Phi spoke to someone without bothering to turn her head.
Viktor followed after the Iron Wolf as it made its way back to its creator, a woman that Viktor hadn't spoken to or seen very often since he had dropped out of the College of Techmaturgy years ago. Along the way, he heard screams and cries of pain and agony coming from men nearby, though he didn't think much of them. The misery of fleshlings was of no concern to him, for superior steel and technology could more than make up for any deficiencies.
After a few minutes, the autonomous canine had led him to the woman, his former classmate, who was doing something to an unconscious soldier. Viktor had no interest in what this was, though her seemingly nonchalant manner of addressing him managed to unnerve him somewhat.
"Angela. So you really were nearby. I knew you would not be too far from your creations."
Upon seeing Viktor, TNS-4 was hesitant to follow. This woman had associates with her it seemed. Were they both going to overpower him and experiment on him? The swarm came out of the holes in the suits of the dead soldiers and began to form around TNS-4. He stared warily at Viktor. "Who are you?"

Garth's eyes widened at Viktor's appearance the his grip on the rocks he was hiding behind tightened. There was one of the men...that drove his father insane for success. Now they were restraining a man, most likely for interrogation purposes. Part of him wanted to leap out and stop them, but he thought better of it. After all he saw what that black cloud did...he didn't want the same thing to happen to him.
For now the aspiring detective would sit in his hiding place and wait to see what happened.
Zaun science is killing far more than its saving. I want to put a stop to that!
