The Grand General's pawn mirrored Singed's move, stepping face to face, blocking its forward advance down the A column. Silence hung heavy in the air as the two men lost themselves in contemplation--both of the board and of the real strategic maneuvers each stride of monochromatic pieces over marble seemed to represent.

A sly smirk crept over Swain's features. The first mistake had been made--and he would take advantage of any chink in his opponent's armor. From across the board, his own bishop slid in fierce self-sacrifice. He added the white bishop to his own collection, leaving his own in its place: an enticement for the king to emerge from the safety of the back lines.

Trembling hands slid the black queen sideways to D5. "Check," came The Master Tactician's rasp. Luminous eyes flicked upwards, watching his opponent's face for any indication of expression. The board began to look barren beneath thinning unit numbers.

The check had been foreseen but never the less the fact that they had come to this point was already proof of the grand general ‘s prowess on the game. He moved his King to the right to h2.

The queen returned to her previous square, her mission done, her manipulation of the white king complete. She waited upon F5, arranging her opponents favorably, inspiring movement with her very presence. Swain drummed his fingers absentmindedly upon the table.

The C pawn took advantage of its clear path, pressing the assault one square at a time. The Grand General took a deep breath, issued a sigh, again turned his gaze to the gray view of rain over Noxus. "On your expertise, Singed," he rasped, finally breaking the awkward silence, "this form will trouble me no longer."
He raised his eyebrows questioningly, as though seeking affirmation from his co-conspirator and unlikely medical practitioner.

“If the catalyst is appropriate and reacts with both the cells and your curse the results will be that they will “Mix” creating something new…not a curse….a blessing for so to say in theory your new body will “feed one the weak” and battle as much as you stay in places where they had been resent bloodshed you cells will convert the residual “miasma” into sustain keeping you strong…and young.” Singed’s queen moved to a7 menacing the very cornerstone on Swain’s pawn structure.

Swain recalled his king to the back lines, upon G8, out of range from the white queen should she choose to advance. He did not smile at this propsition; it sounded too good to be true. But if it were... If this were finally the answer...

Singed pressed the assault? Why, that would not do. The Grand General slid his own queen diagonal to Singed's rook, drawing the attentions of the white queen away from her attack should she wish to save it.
