It was another cold night in Piltover. Back in the side streets, Vi was chasing down a criminal who had broken into a store not far away. He was putting up quite the chase, scampering through the alleyways like no other.
Well, excluding Vi that is.
She was well-known to live by a classic adage; when you hit a wall, hit it hard. Or, in this case, when your target runs, run them down. With a quick pause, the pistons in her gauntlets smacked the ground, catapulting her through the air and on top of a building the thief had ran around. Re-gaining her footing and dashing to the side of it, she jumped over the side, not bothering to look out below.
On her way down, she saw the thief. "GOTCHA, YOU BITCH!" she cried as she flew towards him. She'd expected him to pause so she could tackle him. Instead, though, he kept on running, regardless of her onslaught. With a huge crash, she hit the ground, her vision going black.
When she awoke, her head still hurt. Damn, she'd planned on the tackle softening her fall. With a groan, she looked around, and was met by a gruesome sight.
The thief from last night...he was sprawled out on the pavement besides her, his skull bashed in. Looking down at herself, she found she was covered in blood, and her gauntlet in a few fragments of bone.
"Oh shit...oh shit...oshitoshitoshit..." She began to pace back and forth over the body of the thief. Sure, he was a wanted criminal. But it wasn't her job to kill them. He hadn't even assaulted her. So, in every right of the law, what she had done was completely illegal. And while petty theft and vigilantism was forgiven by Caitlyn, murder was another thing.
What was she supposed to do? She couldn't turn herself in. There was no way to hide what she'd done, she'd be cleaning bone gunk out of her gauntlets for weeks...there was only one thing left to do.
Run.
As soon as her head was clear, she stood up and walked out of the alleyway. Taking a quick look down both ways, she made sure no one was watching. Seeing not a single solitary soul, she made a mad dash for the city limits. She was near the center of Piltover; no matter which way she ran, she'd make it there eventually.
The question was: how long was eventually?
((Oh boy, Vi is screwed this time. Are you for the law? Great, catch me if you can. Against the law? Chances are, I'll be coming to you for help. Don't really care? Fine, I hate you too. Also, know that the chase will likely not end here. It'll go beyond Piltover, maybe even to other city states...Caitlyn, you're in for a bumpy ride. :3))

Caitlyn would arrive at the scene, surprised to not see Vi around. "Where is she..."
An officer would walk up to her, gesturing. "Body's over here, and...it's pretty gruesome." Caitlyn would raise an eyebrow, following him over. When she reached the body, she frowned, kneeling down, inspecting it. "There aren't many people who can do this kind of damage, unless..." She shook her head. "No, no, she wouldn't do this...but I can't let anyone go because they're my friend, but surely she didn't do it, so it wouldn't hurt asking. Maybe she saw someone..."
Caitlyn would stand up, looking around. "Find me Vi, will you? She isn't here for some reason." A few of the officers would look up at her, and nodded after a moment, spreading out around the city. She herself would notice footsteps made, as if someone was running away, and would begin to follow them.

((I love you too, Jayce. Do whatever you want. You're not limited by others telling you what to do, unless it's creepy birdman Swain, not creepy icebird Anivia, Arrowlady Ashe, or Victus.))
Vi was still running, making good progress away from her murder. As the sun rose, she knew that Caitlyn would've found the body and probably send out squaddies to track her down. As soon as Caitlyn found evidence, she'd probably lock down the borders of Piltover. She wouldn't make it to the borders in time.
She'd have to smuggle herself out. But how? Piltover was too 'clean' and 'pure' for that sort of stuff to be common. She made her way for the docks, ignoring the waking passerby. They probably assumed she was on her way to catch a criminal, when the opposite was true.

Caitlyn would frown as she occassionally stopped passerbys to ask if they had seen Vi, and the descriptions they gave her were rather gruesome, and...disturbing. As much as she didn't like it, she began to suspect that her partner, the best enforcer, her close friend...had committed a serious crime, which could come with serious consequences. "I hope she'll not have done it, but I always have to suspect people like this..."
She sighed, worried for her friend, as well as herself, as she kept walking, following the directions the people she stopped told her to go, walking towards to docks.

Vi was right. Piltover was too clean for much smuggling to get through, not many could escape the police's watch. Especially Caitlyn's watch, which rarely any criminal could escape. However, there existed two criminals who had escaped Caitlyn's watch. The first was C, who was a real copycat in the other criminal's opinion. Just a petty thief who sought Caitlyn's attention.
The other criminal was the infamous Twisted Fate, who had such a wider skill set than C. The gypsy was a conman, fortuneteller, master of disguise, conman, thief, gentleman, tango dancer, lover, to many heartbroken women, a champion, and perhaps his most notable title. The Cardmaster, after all this was an alias he had on the Fields of Justice.
It seems Destiny had extended his stay in Piltover, due an underground rink of illegal card games, and perhaps for Vi..it was for the better. Twisted Fate exited out of a bar, nears the docks with a bag of his winnings. He was followed out by many patrons muttering something about a, 'cheating sonofabitch'. This did not bother Twisted Fate as he seemed to be chuckling and jiggling the bag of gold he held. Causing the coins within to clatter together making a 'clinking' noise.
However, it became apparent that he had yet to see Vi yet. Otherwise he would be doing the smart thing, and running away from her. That threat of she made echoed very clearly in his mind.

Vi charged down the docks, breathing heavily. She'd been sprinting almost the entire way, her fear and anger giving her the strength to keep up such speeds. As she charged forwards, Fate got in her way. With a quick shove, she'd push him out of the way, barely noticing who he was. After a couple short strides, however, she stopped solid and turned around, walking over to Fate.
Breathing heavily, she leaned on her own knees. "Please...don't run...need to...talk...phew, the dock is further away than I remember." She looked up at Fate with a look that didn't say 'I hate your guts and want to punch you in them,' but instead a look that said 'just trust me on this for once, I'm tired and couldn't catch you if I wanted to.'

((Well you could...and still can.))
Twisted Fate was admiring the amount of gold in the bag, when someone rudely shoved him. The gold pouch, fell from his hands and a couple of his hard earned gold coins spilled out. He cursed as he picked them up quickly, making sure no eager pick-pockets or unsavory folks would try to claim them. After his hard earned gold was returned to the pouch, he turned to shout a curse or two at the person who shoved him.
The bad news...that person was Vi, the one who had promised to punch him for flirting with her. Which is a real shame when one thinks about, after all who wouldn't want the Cardmaster? His hand immediately went for a gold card, and he was prepared for the worst. Though...she seemed to have no interest in making good on that threat about a black eye (or worse depending on her mood).
"Well Vi, Ah gotta say shovin' me n' then confessin' yer' undyin' love fer' me is a rather roundabout way ta' get there, but Ah'll give ya' points fer' creativity." Twisted Fate joked before glancing around from under his hat, making sure no police officers were making a move to surround him. This was too fishy, but he was in a rather cocky mood and ready to piss of police officers. "But Ah' reckon' ya' have a good reason fer' not beatin' mah face in, yet, so what is botherin' ya' darlin'."

Vi pulled Fate aside. "We can't be seen by the cops. I'm...in a bit of a bind."
She explained the situation, going into a surprisingly vibrant description of the scene of the murder. "So, long story short, I need help to get out of Piltover, or I'll be thrown in jail for a loooooooooong time. Theft and sabotage is one thing...murder is a completely different one."
She sighed, looking at the ground morosely. "I...I hate to admit it, but you're the best guy I know to do this sort of thing...do you think you could smuggle me into Zaun?" She looked up pleadingly. "I'll owe you a favor. And coming from me, that's pretty big. Think about it." She kicked the dust idly, waiting for a response.
Vi hadn't noticed it yet but there was something small stuck behind her shoe. It was miniscule, the size of a piece of gum, and it was green... and it looked like goo. On the very tip was a very small antennae, the same one on the latest champion. It was radioing her very location to a certain someone, who had placed it on her when she was out cold.
Goo Sonar. Zac wanted to call it Goonar, but his dad told him that was silly.
Only problem with it is that it's easily visible. Thankfully, Vi was in too big of a rush to notice.

( Your going down, Fate)
A few rumors and pay offs of Twisted Fate's location brought Graves to Piltover. Seems he is always one step behind but perhaps he is a step ahead this time. He questioned locals who all so innocently said they have not seen the Cardmaster, well, looks like am not looking in the right places. The damn locals always seen to be more inclined to call the guard than to help a man with a grudge.
He thought about asking the sheriffs if they seen him but those law-bringers would not give fate the destiny he deserves. A bullet right between the eyes.
Graves sat down for a drink and brooded over where to look next, ignoring anyone who tried to speak to him. Aint got time for games.
Then, to his surprise, he catches Vi running down the road like a bat out of hell. Odd, where the hell they off to? Must be some great criminal that Vi needs to give the ole one two. He knew his old partner better than that....Twisted Fate would not reveal himself unless he wanted the law to know. Surely Cait would be around too.
He took another drink and continued to sit silently until caitlyn came by in the same direction as Vi, albeit a bit slower of course. He left the drink and hefted up Destiny, walked over to Cait, then leaned against the wall to block her from from walking unless she went around. If they were both "on the case" it must be a big time criminal. " Afternoon Cait" He said before getting to business.
" Where the hell you two off ta'? Yer partner came by awhile ago lookin' like she chasin' ah' ghost. If its cause you seen Fate ya' better let me in on ta' chase." He frowned. " I aint letting that son of ah' bitch get away again."

A leisurely stroll along the streets of Piltover always helped Jayce relax. The soothing sound of the seas, its crashing waves pulsing about in a hypnotic rhythm. The sun shone upon the docks of Piltover, peaceful as ever. Save for the bustling crowd, everything was perfect.
Nearing the corner of the dock, he turned left into the streets, only to find the Enforcer talking with... Fate? What was he doing here?
He quickly stepped back before they could see him, and hid behind the wall, hoping to listen in on their conversation.
Murder... Zaun... escape... Oh man, Vi is in trouble again.
He let out a quiet gasp, the conversation topic was extremely shocking! He did not expect someone like her to commit murder! Petty crimes were one thing, but this was massive. This wouldn't do, Jayce thought it would be better if he helped Vi.
Caitlyn was approaching them from the same path that Jayce had walked - perhaps she was looking for Vi? Jayce strode over to her, hoping to intercept her chase.

Caitlyn would start to pick up the pace when she saw the Outlaw, but he had already stopped her when she thought he would ignore her. She sighed, looking over at him. "Fate's here too? I'm trying to chase down a killer. There was a murder, and I think I'm close...You said you saw Vi running?" She shook her head, sighing, speaking under her breath. "I think she is the murderer..." She looked back at Malcom. As much as she didn't like having the help of an Outlaw, it was the best shot she had. "Alright, you'll help me, but DON'T fire unless they run. Got it?"
Caitlyn would look over at Jayce, figuring something was up, and she smiled. "You are going to help me with this case..." Her face turned serious. "...and if you do not comply, I'll throw you into prison for assisting a murderer. Personally."
