April 26 23 CLE
There was the slightest rustle of leaves as a ninja, long thought to be dead made his way through the trees. Kahn the self exiled was returning to the old Kinkou stronghold to see if the information the deceased spy gave him was accurate. He moved with frightening speed from tree branch to tree branch keeping an eye open for any possible targets to receive information from. There were none that he noticed, and soon he arrived upon the old Kinkou stronghold. What he saw surprised him.
Noxians! In Ionia?
It took a lot of self-control not to lash out at the foolish soldiers who dare to tread upon these lands after all they had done! Some have forgiven the Noxians, but Kahn was not one of those who forgives easily. Nonetheless, this was not a good omen. The Kinkou would never allow the Noxians so close to their stronghold....it seems the information he received was accurate. His thoughts wandered to the safety of Shen, Akali, Kennen, his younger sister, and his clansmen. How many of his clan survived? What about his little sister? He needed answers....and the best way to get them was to go to the source. That means he would need an audience with Zed. Kahn observed the surrounding areas noting the ninja patrols and Noxian ones both diligently observing the area. After all their enemy were ninjas...any bush or shadow could hide an enemy lying in wait.
Today they weren't far off, but fortunately for them...this ninja meant them no harm. Kahn noted a small guardhouse where Noxian stood watching out for any possible infiltrators. Kahn stepped out from his hiding spot and approached the guardhouse, which alerted the guards. One of them stepped forward with his palm facing Kahn,"You there! Halt! This is restricted territory state your name and business!"
Kahn's smirk faded as the guard addressed him, he would rather deal with ninja then grunts, but this would be the most diplomatic entry. So he responded, "My name is Kahn Hisan, my business is with Zed, I wish to join his order as disciple of the shadows." The Noxian guard raised an eyebrow at Kahn obviously not believing his answer.
"Right, I'm sure you understand that I must confiscate your weapons as a safety precaution." The guard said as he approached, his weapon was drawn and ready to fight if Kahn tried anything. Kahn noted so many possible ways he could have killed this guard, but besides the remaining guards in the house there were ninjas who had taken positions in the shadows to try and surprise him. However, the Lotus Hunter offered no resistance, and let his weapons be taken away. Then he was led into the guard house into a room with one exit and no windows. There was a small table and a few wooden chairs. Clearly this was meant to the guards off-duty to either drink or gamble with what little coin they had.
A messenger would be dispatched to Zed to inform him of Kahn's arrival and request. Kahn on the otherhand sat on the floor and took a meditative pose as he waited.
'It's show time.'

Another disciple, good, the Order was in need of fresh blood once again. Zed marched his way to the guard house, a slight smirk hidden under his mask. He wondered what brought this fresh meat here, did it want something? Did it want to use the shadows to further it's own agenda? No matter, Zed would see what it had to say.
He slowly opened the door into the room, no windows, shadows in every corner. Unarmed, still dangerous, Zed could tell from a simple look, calm demeanor, focused, this man wanted something, "Take a seat." Zed ordered the man, and he did the same, taking the seat closest to the door, "State your name, purpose and reason." He demanded calmly. His deep crimson eyes stared into Kahn, almost through him.

Kahn heard the guard's footsteps before he heard Zed's. His visible eye opened to see who had entered, and he was greeted with the familiar sight of Zed. Quite possibly the murderer of his clan, friends, and comrades. He felt the hate well up in his heart as it seemed to beat with anger, and it that drumbeat echoed in his ears as well. However, it would be foolish to engage Zed unarmed and in the middle of a guardhouse. So instead Kahn hid the anger with a small smirk under his mask as he took a seat across from Zed. He kept his arms above the table, to indicate that he had not intentions of harming The Master of Shadows.
Then he quickly and calmly responded to his question, "My name is Kahn Hisan, I am here to learn the way of shadows in order. My reason is simple and savage." Now Kahn let the anger he had held in at Zed surge across his face. To indicate he was still rather bitter with whatever was done to him. Revenge, for what was done to me four years ago." Kahn's visible eye never left Zed's crimson gaze. The Lotus Hunter wondered if Zed would recognize him or the name, if so the ex-Kinkou readied himself for any attack the Master of Shadow might plan.

This man was clearly Ionian, another clear thing was his previous training, the man tensed... Interesting. Anger, training, intent, a dangerous chemical mix, this one needed to be watched. He clearly did not trust Zed, four years? A puzzle, a puzzle that needed solving, "Elaborate on your revenge, who has wronged you, what did they do?" He ordered, his red eyes seemed to glow brighter as he spoke, they too questioned the man.
Zed quickly unsheathed his blade under the table, not facing Kahn, but it was audible. Not very, but a ninja could easily pick up on it.

Kahn was about to reply when he heard the slightest sound of metal scraping against metal. Whoever, made such a weapon was skilled, as the sound was almost unnoticeable it would take keen hearing to here about it. Kahn's visible eye widened a bit and eyed Zed. The ninja paused for a moment waiting for Zed to do something, but then answered his questions.
"I think you know very well who has wronged me, on a rather personal level. The Kinkou, specifically the triumvirate." He elaborated with a venomous tone, he decided it was better not to mention their names, "I was support on one of their little missions, it turned out it was a trap. I was captured, and they could have saved me....they just kept running. They were far to precious to the order to dare, and risk their life for a comrade. Perhaps the worst part of it was the fact that they didn't even come back to see if I was dead. Needless to say our original quarry had a little fun with me." Kahn said as he moved the hair out of the way of the other eye. The eye itself was not injured, but it interrupted a long vertical scar. Then the ex-kinkou ninja gestured to the bandages on his arm before unraveling them. Scars covered a majority of skins, signifying he had been tortured.
"I think you get the point, but I managed to escape. Then for four years, I focused on honing my skills....and getting revenge on all the guards who were a part of our quarry's vanguard. Now I am coming the last row of the harvest, and I intend to make the triumvirate reap what they have sowed. It was then that I heard of your attack and success, so I figured the best way to achieve my revenge would be to come and learn under you, Master of Shadows. " Granted Kahn had revised a few words for the story to make it sound so much worse than what it actually was, and perhaps to hide his purpose. Now he kept an eye on Zed, and focused on him. Not just waiting for a reply, but planning out his counterattack should he prove hostile, after all he had his weapon drawn.

Hesitation, only a moment but it was clear that this man had heard the weapon. Previous training was now clear. Zed listened to the story, Kinkou were at fault, good. Zed seemed to pay no attention to the scars, the fervor he had saw in the mans face earlier was more than physical pain. There was something else, perhaps the betrayal was enough, but that would mean Zed was facing a simple minded man. Another revenge story, simple, clean but dirty, elegant, but crude.
A man with the only intention of revenge would come to the Order of Shadows, yes. However, he would not stay in the Order, he would find his revenge and leave. This was not something Zed wanted, he wanted a man who would stay and become powerful, aid the Order in all it's endeavors, "What will you do when your mission is complete?" Zed asked.
Another blade unsheathed, quicker this time, again not facing Kahn.

Kahn's muscle tensed at the sound of the blade being unsheathed and half of his mind was screaming at him to pick up the chair and take the first strike. Then escape as fast as he could. However, patience was the better virtue to his goal, so he remained seated. Instead he focused on answering Zed's question, and pondered for a moment. He would rather not reveal too much, but he knew this information would come out one way or another.
"I haven't really thought it that far out yet, but I think I might be able to give a better answer, if you answer my questions." He stated before holding up 2 fingers, "First it is my understanding that you killed any Kinkou ninja once you returned, that means my clan fought you as well. Did any of them pose a challenge? I personally doubt it, I was the best my clan had to offer. Second, did you happen to spare any of the younger students? Particularly around the ages of six to eight?" The Lotus Hunter asked curious to the Master of Shadow's answers.

Zed's gaze turned hostile and tore into Kahn, more and more of this man's reason became apparent. Zed ignored the first question and instantly returned the second with another question, "Who is it? Friend? Family? Enemy? Who are you looking for?" Zed's tone was just as hostile as his glare. His blades remained drawn under the table, he scraped one across the bottom to make noise.
"I'm going to repeat a previous question, why are you here?" Zed was digging, and it was no longer hidden, he wanted information.
Shadow people follow him everywhere he goes. Looking over his shoulder, the paranoia flows.
It seems as though his questions had suddenly concerned Zed, as he was now scrapping one of his blades across the bottom of the table. It seems he had struck a nerve or now Zed did not trust his previous answer, but he needed to remain calm. A arrogant attitude would only lead to more trouble, Zed clearly did not like to be questioned. "Family, specifically my little sister, Rikako Hisan, if you are wondering why I asked it's because she was around that age. I was curious if you had killed her, which would be a shame in my own opinion, as I believe she had talent....maybe enough to surpass my own. Talent that will remain untapped if she is with my clan or the Kinkou, after all isn't that what your order is all about? Tapping into one's true strength?"
Kahn noted Zed's bluntness with his question about the Lotus Hunter's intent, so he let his anger rise again, "As I told you. Revenge against the triumvirate! And perhaps against the entire Kinkou if they failed to make my clan strong enough to survive without me. They abandon their allies and let those that still trust them rot in their own ignorance. I'm surprised no one else has challenged them sooner. Of course, I think you've done more than a satisfactory job putting them in their place."

Zed retracted his blades, but his glare remained. So he was here for his sister, Zed had doubted he was here for revenge alone. This family could be used to his advantage, even if Kahn got his revenge Zed could use his sister to keep him in the Order. However the way Kahn spoke of her, the Kinkou in him showed. It would be a shame, nothing more, just a shame because she could have been powerful. Not a shame because his sister had died, a shame because she could have been stronger than him. Cold, Zed had never had a true family but he had learned the value most people have for their blood.
"She may be here." Zed stated bluntly, "Even if she is you will not be allowed to see her. You must first earn your place that by this point, she has. You will follow my orders to the letter, you will respect all those above you. Is that understood?"
Shadow people follow him everywhere he goes. Looking over his shoulder, the paranoia flows.
Kahn's eyes widened at the fact she may be here, but then Zed laid down his conditions. Well there was no backing out now, and this would move him closer to his sister and his goal. Kahn understood the fact that he must achieve his place in the order, so he may see his sister, and to build Zed's trust with him.
"Yes, I understand." Kahn paused for a moment before continuing, "I understand, Master Zed. Whatever you order it will be done with the utmost efficiency. Give me a name and they will die, that I can promise you." He said confidently and with no hesitation.

Another pawn, perhaps it could grow to be a knight, a rook, a bishop maybe? Only time could tell, and only if fed the proper words. Another man brought into the fold, blinded by his objective, he would do anything. Zed was starting to enjoy playing with these strings, even if they sometimes became tangled or frayed and needed to be...Cut.
"You will take up residence here, study well, learn our way. For now your only order is to wait, I do not need your skills yet but their time will come." Zed stated, his voice strong and commanding, "Do not seek your sibling, if I find any evidence that you have been... well I'll let your imagination figure that out."

Ah...here was the cold and merciless Zed that he had been expecting for quite sometime. To keep family separated, but for what purpose? To build a stronger barrier between him and his younger sister? Perhaps, but he would have to play the game to get what he really desired.
"I understand, Master Zed, do not worry. I shall wait till you deem me worthy to meet my sibling. Is there any training regimen that I need to be aware of for newly recruited? Any specific person that I must seek?" Kahn inquired wanting to know all the details of his new life with Zed's order.

"Join the rest of the ninjas in training. The shadows will come to you in time, they will learn you and you will learn them. How soon this is depends on how much effort you put into learning. This also applies to your sister, the sooner you become one of us, the sooner I will allow you to see her..." Said Zed. His crimson eyes ripping into Kahn, "One word out of line however, one grain of sand amiss... you will never see her, she will forget about you and I will make sure of it. You will become nothing but a light breeze of memory, fading..."
Zed would make good on his promise if he needed to. Despite being a ninja Zed's word was often true, his word was worth much. If Kahn knew this, Zed was unsure but it would only wound him if he went against Zed's will.
Shadow people follow him everywhere he goes. Looking over his shoulder, the paranoia flows.
Kahn had to admit that Zed's stare was quite intimidating, but the reaper's was far worse. However, he had no doubt what Zed was true, about the training and the threat of his sister. Fortunately, for Zed, Kahn was no fool. One of his goals was so close now, all he had to do was play the good disciple and he would get to see his sister again.
Though he had no doubt in his mind that Zed would gut him if he did ever step out of line. The Lotus Hunter made a note of that before replying and choosing his words quite carefully.
"We are crystal clear, Master Zed. I believe that was my main concern as of right now. Unless of course, there is anything you need to enlighten me about?" The newly recruited shadow ninja inquired.
