Jon simply nodded after Aetius finished speaking.
"Well, I'm not one to flaunt anybody's capabilities, so your secret's safe with me... although, what do you normally do in living? Surely I wouldn't think this happened just days ago."

Jon gave the man a bit of thought, before looking down at the ground, pulling out a pipe and lighting it.
"Well... I admit since I have never seen anything like the power you have revealed before, I don't exactly have much knowledge of it... but I'll try to help where I can. Is there anything about that particular power within you that you have a question about?" Finishing the lighting of his pipe, he put it in his mouth and began to puff on it.

Several questions came to Aetius' mind, however, none of them felt as if they were really the one to ask. He pondered for some time, and suddenly, he came across a particular question that he was certain he wanted to ask. He cleared his throat, and then spoke.
"Do you think there might be someone else like me? Another person, with control over an element?"

Jon gave Aetius's question quite an amount of time to think it over, taking several draws from his pipe while did so (the smoke was ventilated out rather quickly, so the air was usually clean, even when he smoked in the room). After several minutes, he looked back at the man.
"Would I think so? Certainly: league champions such as Anivia and Brand exist, and while they aren't exactly human people who acquired power over such elements, they still represent the elements, and as you are now somewhat like one of them... I have no doubt others may exist. However, I would not know them exactly, for I admit, that before you I did not know of anyone who could wield an element as a weapon, save for the champions I mentioned."

Jon looked at one of the shelves, almost absent-minded, but really was pondering to himself if he really had any other questions to ask. Believing he did not, he shook his head and nodded to the small box of medical supplies Aetius had earlier requisitioned.
"No sir, that will be all. Remember to take the box of supplies with you... and good luck wherever you go, sir," and with that he gave a final salute to the man.

Aetius took the box, and then placed it into a pouch around his waist. He nodded the the man, and returned the salute, placing his right fist over his heart, as he did before.
"Thank you, sir."
And with that, Aetius made his way out of the office. Finding his way out of the city would likely be difficult, but he had gotten what he came for.

Jon kept the salute as Aetius left; it was only when the doors closed that he relaxed into his chair, though his mind was still definitely thinking.
The man that had entered his room was most certainly an interesting person... he had never met someone who controlled electricity like that before. If he existed, perhaps there were others who did as well?...
He pondered this idea for a few minutes when he realized he still had a report to work on. Almost jolting off his chair, he returned back to the report, having been able to recollect mostly where he had left off.

Elenwe was never the sort to let business go unresolved. As long as she was awake she may as well finish business with this leader of theirs, and see what he was like. She found it most unusual that her ability to tend to the sick already drew their interest- then again, not everyone lived in a caravan of limited population where everyone had to learn as much as they could of everything.
And so, at their behest but without their directions, she made her way to the upper floor of the headquarters, seeing their leader. Still in her sleeping gown, Elenwe walked into the office, and smiled as she spoke. “Hello there! Your kind medics tell me you can help me in a financial predicament I am in. You are their leader, yes?”

Jon had only been minutes into his proof when his fellow officer and the woman entered. Looking up, he noticed that it was his old friend, David Winters, and he got up and saluted him; Winters returned the salute. Turning to the woman, he offered out his hand.
"Pleasure to meet you," he said in a kind tone. Turning to Cpt. Winters, he spoke prompt and to the point. "So, why have you brought this woman here?"
"Major Xiang-Lewis, sir, this woman has demonstrated a strong possibility to be a strong addition to the hospital staff, sir," Winters responded.
Jon raised a slight eyebrow, looking from Winters back to the woman. He nodded, and then decided that giving a test wouldn't hurt.
"So... Cpt. Winters here believes you might be able to be a nurse under the employment of the Piltovian Hospital, miss," he explained to her. "Normally, I'd require a rather strict process to even consider an applicant, but if Cpt. Winters here believes that much in you... perhaps we can accelerate it a bit."
With that, he went back to his desk, got out a clipboard, pencil, and a document, unfilled, and gave it to the woman.
"Fill out the document, and we'll continue from there," Jon explained.

“Yes well, I am not yet quite sure. Your... hospital has many restrictions, and is not very hospitable at all. I am not a learned healer either; I am simply a wanderer who has... picked up many a useful skill.”
Then the Major took out a small stack of papers attached to a clipboard. Elenwe looked at the forms, flipped it over, upside down and sighed. She knew she’d eventually have to take a temporary job like her troupe’s older non-performers. She plopped into a nearby chair, sitting cross-legged on it, as she looked at the questions she was inquired of.
Elenwe Tray'neth, born 17 winters ago on the winter solstice; a woman obviously!
Well, to learn new healing arts to supplement her folk knowledge would be welcome- she filled in the form, skipping permanent address and citizenship, as she had neither. She lists her mother and female relatives, but no father or brothers.
She lists her prior experiences that would be helpful as a healer... she indicates she is a herbalist, a brewer of potions, an apothecary- (an archaic name for a pharmacist that dealt in herbal medicine and such), and assisted a midwife deliver a few children as well. These were practical skills of a nomadic people, and she felt they might contribute to the hospital.
Since there was no mention or inquiry into her magic, she has yet to mention the extent of her abilities- that she had so many varied skills was due to her ability of Retrocognition, the divination of the past. She didn’t need to worry about any of the skills she mentioned if they’d gone unpracticed- she could use her power on herself, and watch herself in the past performing a deed, and be brought up to speed.
“But, aiding the sick is a noble duty... um, is it too early to ask how much you pay? Also, I have no permanent lodging... and sleeping on the grass has become quite dull, really.”

"The hospital's restrictions have been in response to a series of high-profile robberies that have occurred here within the past year," Jon explained, "so naturally people will be more up-tight over it. After all, being a leading standard of medical facilities across Valoran does require very high standards be maintained... especially when the cost to the patients is usually free."
Him and Winters simply stood by, letting Elenwe fill out the document. When she raised the question of pay, Winters decided to answer.
"The pay is... handsome. Incredibly so, if i may say so myself: the Piltovian Hospital is currently the only hospital besides the Medical Ward at the Institute of War that pays six figures to it's entire staff, nurses included."
"As to a residence... it is policy to offer a room in one of the staff wings to an employee that currently does not have a home. Matter of fact, a significant percentage of the staff here reside in the staff wings connected to the hospital."

Spooks went wide-eyed, jaw dropping and hands on her cheek as she gasped. She had never heard of such fantastically large amounts of money. “Why, I’ll be glad to start immediately and stay awhile before I continue my journey! I promise to learn everything I can about your ways of healing and more!”
She stood up, yawning and stretching once more. “Then, I suppose I should get some sleep for now. I'll see as to where I can begin tomorrow...”

Xiang-Lewis and Winters simply nodded.
"Very well then, Sgt. Lipton will lead you to your new quarters," Jon replied, motioning Lipton into the room. "He'll take you back to your temporary room so you can gather your belongings, and from there you'll be able to go to your new room."
Lipton nodded at Elenwe, and left, as if expecting her to leave with him.
After the two left, the doors closed, and Jon turned to Winters.
"Ah, are you sure about this... Elenwe? It's a mighty risk to take in someone without even administering the screening..."
"Sir, with all respect, Elenwe has demonstrated medical skills that even our best nurses were surprised to see," Winters responded. "I believe she'll do great... I'd bet on it."
Jon exuded a small sigh, and then nodded. "Very well, let's hope you're right..."
With that, the two saluted, and Winters left the room, leaving Jon all alone again. He went back to his report, noticing that today had been quite an interesting one...
