Jon was at his desk as was usual during the day, working away on the latest reports on the hospital's research on the 'SOLA' virus outbreak; he'd need to stop by the research labs later in the day, looking at one of the papers...
however, he heard a knock at the door, and for the moment decided that he could wait reading it further. Looking up, he called out.
"Come in!" Jon said, in a rather pleasant tone.

"What side you're on isn't of concern to me. What is of concern is that you're hurt, and I need to treat you for it." -Jon

Her papers hugged close to her, as she opened the door. As she closed the door behind her, she couldn't help but to have a pleasant face toward Jon, though she was probably a complete stranger. It was hard to explain feeling that can only be found among medical people.
"Sorry to disturb you, but it appears they mistype the location of the Hospital Director's office. I was hoping you could help me."

Jon saw the woman enter, and noticed that she happened to be a medical practitioner as well. He could only but help himself to smile at the thought of a new healer to arrive at the hospital; the PCH was one of the leading hospitals in Valoran, and thus many practitioners came to request a chance to work for it.
He listened to the woman, and then spoke.
"Ah, I suppose you have an older record, no? The hospital's been steadily expanding and progressing over the past decade or so..."
"'Help you?' Why of course; I'm Chief Medical Officer Xiang-Lewis, the ((Surprise, hurp durp)) CMO of Piltover and head of the Piltover Central Hospital. Now if could please tell me your name and what you need help with, I'd be glad to assist from there..."
((Alright, not a problem at all.))

"Surprise, surprise." Aimi smiled, "I guess I have such good fortune for a change. Nice to meet you, Director Xiang-Lewis." Though she wasn't exactly sure on how to address him properly, since things have changed since she last came here. She noticed a certain uniqueness in his last name, but she rather not drop her formalities to ask him about it. "Doctor Aimi Sumuni." She introduced herself, handing him her credentials and dossier, "I will taking some special classes for a few weeks, so I came to offer a extra hand to the hospital while I'm here. "
Though that was only a partial gist of the reasons of why she was here, but nothing for the Chief Medical Officer's concern, at least not yet.

"Pleasure to meet you, Dr. Sunumi," Jon replied, taking the documents and looking them over. "Oh, and, you can just call me Doctor Lewis; my name's somewhat clunky to say all the time," chuckling at the end.
"Well, normally the PCH asks of all interested Medical personnel to fill out an application, along with submitting any extra-credentials they may have. However..." he qualified, looking a bit deeper into the documents, "It appears that you have come under the hospital's employment before, along with your other credentials."
"Due to a recent policy change, anyone who has worked here before and was not discharged via firing or similar is now allowed to return to their original duties as prescribed in their first employment. Looking at your credentials, you seem more than qualified enough for the tasks that are required to be performed."
"And so, Dr. Sunumi, on behalf of the PCH, I welcome you back into the staff of the hospital," holding out his hand and smiling.

"Thank you, though it's only for a short time." She paused at the site of his hand, usually a swing and miss with Ionian traditions. However, she has done enough traveling around Valoran to answer his hand with her own. "Parts of your long last name sounded a bit Ionian.." She commented.

Jon nodded at her response, but then raised an eyebrow at her comment at the end.
"Hmm, well, if you were to think I would be of Ionian descent, then you are correct. I am of a mixed origin, actually... half-Zaunite, half-Ionian, to be exact."
His face then turned a small shade of sadness; the mentioning of Zaun and Ionia reminded him of his service in the Noxian-Ionian war...

Aimi noticed the change on his face. Half-Zaun, Half-Ionian....It almost seems not possible. It almost made her wonder, thinking back on that terrible war years ago. She was young master of her clan, and as a medic on the Ionian side, was exposed to every terrible image the war offered. If anything she would thank the Kinkou for, it would be for training with her mental fortitude to keep the memories from cracking her mind.

Jon notices Aimi's facial expression, and realizes she was also in the war. The common connection of 'war veterans' existed, and he nodded.
"Ay, no need to be sorry..." he then lowered his voice to a very low whisper, "...I was there myself, with the Ionians. My Zaunite mother actually coerced my Ionian father to move to Piltover as a compromise before the League was even formed. When Noxus invaded, my father's extended family was still there, and so I went."
"...try not to tell anyone of what I just told you though... it's still a rather well-guarded secret, and I don't want certain people to know..." looking around, as if there might be the chance someone might come through the shelves, having listened to what he just said.

"Don't worry...your secret's safe with me..." Aimi nodded with a stern face, followed by a brief moment of silence between them. She knew it was not easy to go though that kind of trial, no matter what side you're born from. To her, this was just one new secret to throw in her closet.
"Well, the hospital is as busy and appealingly chaotic. Was there anything I need to work on while I'm here?" The doctor tried to break the gloom in the room. Talking about medical and science stuff seems to help for her. Archery does as well, but they don't seem to have room for that kind of setup. "After all, I'll be here in the flesh and not being called though a visiopath line for advice. "

Jon's mind went off for a moment before he recovered, and nodded at Aimi's response. Upon hearing her question, he gave it some thought, before answering.
"Hum, normally I ask new staff members to get acquainted with the place, but you've had experience here, no?... I suppose there's one last question I'd need for you to answer then..."
"... what type of medical treatment do you specialize in?"

"To make the answer short version as possible, I was more trained with various surgeries, including special cases. My anatomy knowledge is top notch." Aimi paused, "I have also familiarize myself with a Endoscopic procedures as well. Why that guy swallowed his own bags of drugs. I'll never know." She shook her head recalling that incident. "Lately, I have been engaging in more lab study lately, under masterful supervision. . The new components found in some of Ionian's plants, has worked in creating new medicines. "

Jon nodded in response to Aimi's answers, chuckling for a moment at the drug operation comment, then gave a moment to think over the places she could fit in best. Upon giving the possibilities further thought, he then spoke to her.
"Alright, well then... there are two areas we could put you into. One of them is surgical operations, where for you, you will mostly be dealing with general surgery and the like. The other choice is the medical labs, where you will be assisting the current researchers with some of the newer developments regarding some of our experimental treatments and one particular virus..." he trailed off at the end, waiting for Aimi to pick before moving on.

Aimi smiled for a bit, "Well, I feel that my knowledge would help in the lab. This new virus does intrigue me a little as well. However, it might help you if you put me on-call in surgery for emergencies. I don't mind break away from the lab to do that. Things around Valorian has been anything but calm and peaceful as of late."

Jon listened to Aimi's response before speaking.
"Hmm, so you would be interested in doing both at alternating schedules? It is possible... although with the amount of work both now require, I'll likely place you on a test schedule to make sure you're alright with the workload you will be handling under such circumstances. Are you alright with that?"
