"That's perfectly fine by me." She nodded. A heavy workload wouldn't be much for her. Being busy with things like her work is fulfilling for her. She was curious about the virus that the chief officer mentioned, wondering if its related to the case she was looking into as of late.

Jon nodded, then thought for a moment about the virus Aimi would we dealing with in the research medical labs. He opened one of his drawers, and took out a paper, detailing the Solar Oculate Lymphona Accelerated virus and the associated disease.
"Well, since you will work amongst the researchers, it'd be best to thus have you up to date on what is being worked on at this time," Jon said to Aimi.
"...would you happen to hear of the 'SOLA' virus?"

"Vaguely. There was still scant reports that manged reach home." Aimi sighed. She loved Ionia, but always disgruntled by the lack of openness towards new information and progress. "I'm working toward to change that one day..." She took the papers, scanning them.

The paper briefly detailed the important information about the virus: that it was an infection, one that was not contagious, but whose symptoms notably included painful 'holes' which were burn spots that formed in the patient's body, that it spread throughout the body similar to that of cancer, that it's cause was officially unknown, but presumed to come from excessive exposure to sunlight, and that currently, there was no developed anti-viral biotic, but that leads had been made.
"Well, the paper explains it... right now we have several of our best scientists on the job working to develop a cure, or at least a treatment, for the virus, me included. Tomorrow, we'll get you up to speed as to the finer details of what we're doing with the thing. Sound good?" He waited for Aimi to speak.

"Sounds good to me." She hands the paper back to Jon. "This will be a interesting two weeks, if not more." She waited for a moment to let Jon speak, but the faint inking in her head about why she came Piltover in the first place. "Almost forgot" She handed Jon a schedule of the classes and meeting for the New Orthopedic Technology Seminar (Yes, they called it Nots) going on in Piltover, "To help with my scheduling, if you're not taking part already."

Jon nodded at Aimi's response, and nodded again when he looked at the seminar.
"'tis strange... the person hosting the seminar happens to be my room-mate back at the Yordle Academy..." his mind wandered for a moment to back when they first met; it was contentious, but they quickly overcame that and have since become good friends.
"...but back to the point; very well, your hours will be placed to fit in with your classes... do tell professor-doctor Higgens I've wanted to see him again, will you?" He turned to go back to his desk, before a thought crossed his mind; he turned around back at Aimi.
"Though, one other thing... since you were here before, where have you been throughout all this time? It's odd that you should want to come back from such a long time ago..."

"Sure thing. I'm sure he'll leap at the invitation" She chuckled.
Then, the question caught the doctor off-guard, and her face faintly showed it, "The short version would be that I went back home. ..."
"I was gone from Ionia for some time and worked with the Preservers to established their medical section. During that time I visited Piltover to pick on new medical studies while sharing some of the new techniques from my own homeland. " She was also enjoying one of her favorite pastimes here, but he didn't need to know that.
"Let's just say something happened that made me return home, hoping to bring Ionia up to speed...and I say this for it not to be repeated again. There are times that people shouldn't be reliant on magic and relics to heal them. Of course, I used my own Ki art to mend certain things, but I have an idea when to use that ability. I used my family's savings to set up a small clinic with a few people in Ionia. So far, it has established a place to help the populace with particular matters and shoulder some of the burden off the healers. "
Aimi chuckled wistfully, "However, I believe that I should keep processing on my knowledge to help my home. Hell, I thought of a crazier idea for a Unification for Medical knowledge and the people that practiced it in Valorian. . . " She shook her head, "I'm not ready for that kind of establishment yet and i-it's really just an idea for the most part." She kept a straight face, though she was beating herself up on why she said that much. Maybe her time between the mainlands made her more open to her own ambitions.

Jon stood by silently, listening to Aimi's story. Hearing about the preservers reminded him of the void threat that loomed; perhaps the Corps might want to establish ties with them, he thought to himself.. . he would need to make a mental note on that later.
When she mentioned of a situation she did not want to describe, Jon became curious for a moment, but seeing that such an event was clearly sensitive was enough for him at the moment; he didn't want to enter people's private histories just for curiosity's own sake.
Then, when Aimi mentioned about a common medical practice, Jon raised an eyebrow.
"Hum, funny you mention that, for the PCH has just began to send out envoys to establish ties with all the other major medical facilities across Valoran, including the Medical Ward at the institute. If it should succeed, common databases and medical histories will thus be shared to all major facilities across the continent. Now, it is not outright unification, but it is a step."

"Indeed," Jon noted in response.
"Well, I believe that is everything that needs to be covered. I will see you tomorrow in the labs at 10... and please keep the secret," he added quietly at the end. He then gave a small bow; recalling Aimi was Ionian, and being half-Ionian himself made it more fitting than a handshake here.

Jon nodded, smiling as he did so.
"Very well! I shall see you tomorrow at the labs... until then, farewell," and with that he waved Aimi out of his room.
Returning to his desk and sitting back down, he went back to his written report on the progress of the 'SOLA' virus, as if he had never bee interrupted...

Jon was back at his papers, looking over at the progress of the 'SOLA' virus vaccine that had just been approved for limited testing by the Parliament, when he heard the knocking at the doors.
"Come in!" He called out.
