"Thank you for your kind words. Chaos is a possibility though, and it is not a reason for avoidance. Even though I live among them, I still don't understand humans. They are a mystery to me."
Soraka's face scrunched up a little, then she sighed.
"I am unsure I would be able to make a friend more dear than the stars. I have problems with truly trusting people with my emotions. I may be kind to everyone, but it does not mean I trust them."
The cruelty of one will not blind me of the suffering of many.
"You are welcome. It seems people usually associate chaos with evil, when in truth, true chaos is not good or evil, it simply is the nature of the universe." She looked again at Soraka. "I do not think that we truly understand ourselves much of the time. By our nature, we are chaotic, more than most of the creatures in this world, though for the most part, I think we are trustworthy. What was it that originally caused this distrust?"

Soraka frowned, she hated remembering. But, it was a part of her past that she can't simply run away from.
"I was tricked, fooled by a man I gave my trust to. His actions convinced me to leave the safety of my grove, the comfort of my stars. My trust in this man caused me to strike out at his attackers, which severed my tie with the stars and rendered me mortal. He then thanked me with a knife in my ribs. It turns out all along he gained my trust to cut out my heart."
She shook her head.
"I was naive, I trusted everyone. I thought there were no depth to people, I didn't understand the term lying. And I paid the price for it."

"I see. I do not understand some qualities of my own kind. Deceit, cruelty, torture, all of these things make no sense to me. They are pointless, and do not tend to achieve any sort of goal. I do remember one thing my parents said to my sister. I forgot what had happened to her earlier, but they said something about not letting one person ruin your view of others." She frowned a bit in thought. "I never really understood its meaning until now. Still, it is always best to be wary of people, observe them, learn their habits, and you can learn to see through lies."

Soraka put her hand under her chin, thinking.
"Ah yes, that is good advice. Your parents are wise indeed."
She then chuckles to herself a bit.
"I still find it amazing how a human can have so much wisdom, some more than I. They bring points and ideas I never thought to come up with. Maybe I should get out there, socialize with people and try to make friends. Ah but enough of this about an old hag's past, lets go down to the beach."

"I was always told they were wise, and that they were highly respected in the village they lived in. I wonder if they would recognize me if I were to return." She spoke to herself mostly for the second sentence, then changed the subject back to Soraka socializing with people. "The probability of harm coming to you from socializing is low. Especially if you avoid getting too attached too people until you learn to better understand humans." She smiled a bit, and would follow Soraka to the beach. "That sounds like a good idea... I noticed something different about you. When others would normally comment on my behavior, you did not, I have yet to figure out the reasons why on my own."

The Starchild started to lead Almyra to her favorite spot at the beach.
"Thank you very much for your advice, it has opened up a new perspective in my life. I'm glad you passed out in front of my door."
Soraka couldn't help but laugh a little. She tried to stifle it though, with little avail.
"Oh I am terribly sorry, that must of been rude. Ah, here we are! This is in my opinion the best spot on the beach."
Where she had led the wanderer was to a slightly secluded part of the beach, surrounded by small plants. The shrubbery was about waste high and it cleared up into a small portion of sand.

"Yes, of all the doors to pass out in front of, I'm glad it was yours. You saved my life, I suppose it's only fair that I give you something in exchange." She gave a slight laugh as well. "You need not worry, if it was rude, I took no offense. I've had much worse said to me." She looked around briefly at the spot they had arrived at. "It is nice." In truth, she preferred more crowded, busier areas though even this place had its own hidden chaos to it.

The Starchild nodded while continuing to walk.
"I like it because it is like my old grove, a clearing surrounded by nature. Here I sit and look up at the sky for a while."
It was then that there was a rustling in the grass, then a sound of an animal. It was a light sound, as if it were far away. Soraka smiles then walks to the rustling, making clicking sounds as she walked.
"Orion! Here kitty kitty."
A small orange tabby cat then emerges from the grass running over to the Starchild. It is just big enough to fit in both of your hands, with orange fur and seemingly random white blotches. It reaches her and starts rubbing on her shins.
"There you are. Where have you been all day?"

Almyra remained silent, just looking around the area of the beach they were on, when she heard the rustling in the bushes she paid attention to that. Smiling when she heard Soraka and saw the cat. She went back to looking around, trying to visualize what Soraka's grove was like. She grew more curious of Soraka's past as she did so. "What happened to him, the man that betrayed you?"

Soraka bends down and picks up the small cat, cradling it in her arms. She kisses it on the nose. It meows and snuggles into her chest. Purring as it rests there. Hearing Almyra's question she turned back to her guest.
"I cursed the man. I disfigured him so that everyone will know just by seeing him that he is cruel. Though currently he is a champion in the league, though I do not know why. Probably for some sort of self gain."

"Oh. It is interesting, what people do with what they have had thrust upon them. They always seem to find a way to make the best, at least for them, of their situation. You, becoming a healer and joining the League, and him also joining the League." She smiled again when she saw Soraka pick up the cat "Well, it seems you have already found a friend. Not a human one, but a friend no less."

"Ah, well it was all I could think to do. Joining the League seemed to be where I could do the most good."
Orion then stretches out and yawns, emanating an adorable sound. He opens his eyes and starts slapping at Soraka's arm band. She chuckles at this.
"Ah yes, animals are amazing creatures. No hidden motives or agendas. They let you know right away what their intentions are. This little guy's mother had perished, it seems like she had gotten attacked or injured somehow. I was on my way back from town when I heard the poor baby crying. By the time I found them, it was too late for the mom. So I took him in, became his new mom. He usually spends his day running around outside, returning to the hut every few hours. Then at night he sleeps with me."

"Yes, animals are often much easier to get along with than people. They rarely judge you for beliefs or actions. Though, I admit, I occasionally find their behavior too predictable, and get bored with observing them." Not really having any other topics to talk about at the time. She sat down in the sand, looking at the ocean. As she did so, she brought her hands upjust in front of her chin, wove her fingers together and extended her index fingers so the tips touched at a point above her hands. Where her fingers touched, a small green light appeared, flickering like an ethereal flame. Here she simply sat, meditating.

"I do understand that, the same thing does get boring sometimes for me as well."
Seeing her guest sit and meditate, the Starchild decides to sit not far away. Orion steps off of her lap and runs to the nearby plants, trying to capture small bugs. Leaping and slapping at the air. Soraka sees her cat is doing fine by himself, so she decided she can look up at the stars for a while. She slips into her trance again, seeing just the stars in the night sky.
