A smile curved on the Captain's cold lips as the contagious excitement of John got to her. He was always energetic even though he had a bad day or he just got beaten up by his own teacher during their trainings, such an optimist. Irelia opened the drawer that was underneath her desk and pulled out a diagram of the Placidium's different areas and rooms. She placed it on the desk and pointed at one specific place with her index finger.
"It's on the last floor of the building, it's pretty much an empty floor where you could find some of the guards and other weapons workshops so you'll be fine there."
John leaned forward and placed his hands on the table as the diagram was brought out. He glanced over the different rooms then focused on the Captain's finger pointing at one in particular. He slowly smirked, it seemed like this would be better than his apartment in Piltover. Who the hell puts a window that looks out at a nearby brick wall? Dumbasses that's who.
"Sounds like a nice place, can't wait to see it in person."
He still couldn't believe she was okay with it. It would definitely give him something to do during downtime. Usually when not training he was sitting around doing nothing, or tutoring his kid. Whichever worked best of course.

Irelia smiled as she saw his eyes grow from the joy that sparked in his heart. She nodded and stood up from her chair leading him to the door as she decided to show him the room that was specifically prepared for him before he even asked for it. She stood by the door and looked over her shoulder, her emerald eyes staring down at him as she said.
"Would you care to follow me? I am going to show you the room."
John stood up and let out a short chuckle and stretched his arms out over his head. A quick nod was thrown her way as he quickly stepped forward behind her.
"Gladly."
He rolled his neck and shoulders as it suddenly hit him.
"Wait so does this mean I'm sleeping there too?"
He wouldn't mind it at all anyway, it would save him the usual trip to the Placidium. Speaking of a place of to sleep, he was curious to how things back in Piltover were going. He made a quick mental note to find out once he got settled in, since last time was... Huh... Not sure how long. He had definitely lost track of time it appeared.

Prior to his departure for Ionia, a letter was delivered to Irelia about Garen's visit. It encased in a simple envelope sealed with the Crownguard's coat of arms on the red wax. He was told to let Irelia know that he was to arrive with his standard weaponry and would not want to surrender it to the quartermaster until it was time to leave. All this was addressed in the letter, as well as his time of arrival. Though Garen knew Irelia would be busy with matters of her own, he half-expected her to meet him once he arrived.
The open sea of the path they took from Demacia's ports left Garen to contemplate on the situations that would meet him upon landfall on Ionia. His friend, Cordellia has been reported to go AWOL shortly after a spar with the venerable Xin Zhao. If he agreed to have someone else search for the woman, there was no doubt she was to have a very rough time. That is why he volunteered to search for her and bring her back himself.
His days of openly daydreaming while looking out into the vast horizon presented before him by the sea would end when he saw the islands of Ionia come into view. From the port, it should be a few more hours before he arrived inland into Placidium. As he got off from the ship, his legs would feel weird sensation of solid ground, not having to use his "sea legs" as the sailors called it, and the myriad of little shops that filled the harbor would bring a smile upon Garen's lips. The island was flourishing from visitors, and the courteous bows and kind, hushed words exchanged between the people was a truly refreshing sight for Garen.
It was a very good thing he brought extra money to rent a buy a horse for his stay in the lovely island nation, though he prayed it would not be for long. As he approached the Placidium, he would quickly look about for the unmistakable hair of the Will of Blades as he remained on horseback.
He asked for directions to Irelia's office and was directed by an Ionian guard. He was asked to disarm himself and leave it before entering the building, to which Garen complied. After removing his weapon and dismounting his horse, he knocked politely on Irelia's office door, hoping she would be there to answer.
"There is a bed if you wish to sleep there, though it's not mandatory." She said as they finally arrived at the door of the room. She stood behind John and said in a calm voice. "I'll let you go see for yourself, if you need anything I'll be in my office for an hour."
John followed behind her, chewing on his tongue in nervous anticipation. He stopped at the door and nodded back at the Captain.
"Aye aye. Ignore any manly shouts of joy. That's probably one of your guards not me."
John said nonchalantly. He took a sharp inhale and slowly opened the door, first peering inside then stepping in as the door was opened enough. Opening the door of course while something only took took ooh... a second or two, felt like a millennium for John. This was going to be a fun day for him no doubt.

Irelia chuckled as she nodded and left John on his own in his new room. She walked down the hallway, her mind venturing in a dream world until she was suddenly cut off by Garen. She looked at the bulky man and remembered the letter that was delivered to her about his arrival. She made her way to the man and stood behind him, a blank expression washing over her face as she spoke in a formal tone.
"Mr.Crownguard, I see that you are on point. I have received your letter and I suppose you wanted to discuss the reasons why you're here, right?"

Garen turned on his heel as he heard Irelia's voice, then bowed to her as per Ionian culture, then nodded with urgency... and a hint of woe behind his eyes.
"Yes, indeed. Though our nations have not embraced each others' people, I assume you would know why I request your permission to remain armed in my quest." Garen said. Of course, not only was he on foreign soil, he was expecting much more resistance than Ionian typhoons or troublemakers.

Irelia nodded as he reminded her of what was written in the letter, however a few elements were missing to her and she wanted the answers to her thoughts.
"Yes I understand however... Why are you interested in that particular person and what is it doing here in Ionia?"
Finally John had returned home. Felt nice to be back in the Placidium. Now walking on foot though he walked up the stairs towards the main building where the Captain would be waiting for the message, probably in her office doing the usual paperwork. He nodded at the guards at the door and entered the building. Hopefully she didn't need anything else from him though. Sooner he could get to work on getting the workshop setup the better. Some of his gear could definitely use some decent maintenance work and hell he could start improving some of it in his spare time.
He made his way up to her office, his pace increasing as he got closer. Stopping at the door he stood up straight and knocked, pulling the message out, saying.

Irelia Lito, The Will of the Blades, Captain of the Ionian Guard.
You proposition has been accepted, should it truly be for the good if Ionia. I will meet with you, perhaps now Ionia will display the diplomacy it is famed for. Send a messenger with an agreeable time and date.
-Zed.
Shadow people follow him everywhere he goes. Looking over his shoulder, the paranoia flows.
Irelia nodded as he reminded her of what was written in the letter, however a few elements were missing to her and she wanted the answers to her thoughts.
"Yes I understand however... Why are you interested in that particular person and what is it doing here in Ionia?"
"She is a member of one of the noble houses of Demacia, as well as a strong soldier. She is here in Ionia... for personal reasons. I ask that you not ask further about this." Garen said with a stern voice, then eyed Irelia with a solid yet warm look. Somehow, Garen thought it would pass the message to Irelia that it pertained to his personal life.

20th of July 23CLE
The Ionian guards headquarter, that's the place. The office room of the one in charge. The injured man drags his corpse through the majestic halls of the ancient runic building.
He would find himself in-front of the office door, completely exposed to the public. If he could of done it any other way, he would of simply delivered the letter through the window...
But he doesn't have much choice and so he bore the pain and steadily knocked on the door of Irelia's office, waiting to be granted entry to her domain and to deliver what he is needed to deliver.
