Xerath was slightly confused at this person's statement; did he think he was not the real Magus Ascendant?
"Uh... I... am... Xerath, the Magus Ascendant. He is I. There is no other person who is like me..."He replied, confused as to whether this person was just being a fool and playing with him or genuinely believed he was not who he truly was...
But the skeptical Titus Flavius refuses to believe. One obvious reason is that he's NOT human.
"Really? You're supposed to be some glowy pure arcane energy...you're human."
He examines Xerath's skin more deeply than ever. If that IS the Magus Ascendant, then Xerath has an awesome new human body AND Titus is in a real match of his life.

Upon hearing Titus's response, Xerath was finally convinced that the Yordle truly did think he was not the Magus Ascendant. This amused him, but only for a moment.
"Well, I suppose if you want me to prove it, I can..." And with that, he changed his form to the one that the summoners were accustomed to seeing of him: his prison fragments came out from inside of him to the front, his helmet moving back to his head, and his skin layer dissipated back into behind the prison en-casings.
"Would showing you the form people normally recognize me as be enough to show that I am the real Xerath?" he asked Titus, upon which he changed back into his 'human' form, the pieces moving back inside and his arcane skin layer reforming.
His mouth is wide agape as the Magus Ascendant reveals his ascended form and reverts back to his new human form. How did he get the new human form might be anyone's guess but he couldn't believe that it's the Magus Ascendant himself. The surprised Titus Flavius blinks his eyes in awe before smiling widely.
"Wow! That's pretty awesome, Xerath! I couldn't believe you now have a body all of your own!"

Xerath is surprised at first upon seeing Titus's reaction, but then realizes he has hardly shown anyone that he can do such. He gives what sounds like a chuckle.
"Well... it's not hard at all. I just never considered bothering with it until recent events provided some food for thought... but that's for another time. Now, I do believe there is some practice that needs to happen, no?" with that, Xerath motioned over his left hand, and slowly, an arcane pulse began to form on his palm.
Titus smiles widely, happy and excited that he's going to spar against the powerful Magus Ascendant. He can feel a hint of Xerath's arcane power wanting to erupt.

Xerath slowly let the pulse begin to expand. It eventually turned into a flat, somewhat transparent screen, from which Titus could see a roulette of battle grounds the sparring grounds had available.
"You can choose. All of the open sparring grounds are shown here," he replied; as if on cue, the roulette slowed down enough for Titus to be able to get a good look at each and every one.
Titus doesn't really care about the location; he cares to practice and fight. And he can't wait to tell his father back at Bandle that he fought against the Magus Ascendant, whatever the results are.

Xerath tilted his head slightly at Titus's response. So he wasn't one who preferred to make a decision. Oh well.
"Very well," the magus replied, before he spun the roulette himself. It stopped on a particularly flat-ground field, with no barriers or obstacles, and in an open sky; to anyone, it just seemed to be an open arena, with no objects that could be used or interfere with a spar.
Once the field was chosen, a pathway lighted up that could only be seen by Xerath and Titus, which led to the arena.
Titus nods his head and turns forward as he follows the lighted pathway to the arena. While he walks with Xerath to the arena, he mentally prepares himself for the epic spar of his life.
Well...it isn't an actual fight. Xerath and Titus cannot kill each other and doing so will have deadly consequences. And if Xerath and Titus did fight to the death, the magic output will be excessive. Accidents can occur and for a few moments, he wonders if he made the mistake of fighting Xerath.
The opportunity, however, for a spar is too good to miss. He's going against the Magus Ascendant! A being of pure energy! An immortal who knows the ancient spells and conjurations that can blast enemies with just a wave of his arcane hand. No one knew how to kill him...or defeat him at the least. Titus speculates that no one has won against Xerath in a real magic duel, not the kinds of matches in the Fields of Justice, but in an actual duel whether it's controlled or not. Chances of winning may be slim due to his battle experience...
But Titus has yet to fight him. This will be his first shot at it.
The two arrive at the designated arena. The entire environment looks flat. No barriers, no obstacles, and the advantage meter in terms of the field itself is at a balance. The yordle finally looks up to his opponent with a smile in his face, excited and ready that he's going to fight him.

As the magus himself made his way into arena, a few thoughts continued to ponder into his mind; a yordle willing to challenge him... now that made for quite an interesting thought to ponder on.
Once they made their way into the arena, Xerath made his way to one designated side of the arena, to which he stood still afterwards.
"If you may take your place on the other side, we can proceed to our pre-spar respects," Xerath stated, his voice still rather pleasant.
Titus takes the other side of the arena and faces Xerath, waiting for the fight to begin. Cosmic energy within him fluctuates with each inhale and exhale.
"When you're ready..." Titus says to Xerath somewhat uneasily.

Xerath sensed an interesting energy emanating from his dueling partner...
...cosmic energy.
An interesting form, for sure... although even that couldn't handle pure energy in it's true form - once he was able to achieve it, at least - it would certainly be a good type of magic to practice against.
Slowly, but surely, he spread out his arms, and slowly a pure arcane energetic barrier began to form around him.
"You may have the first blow, if you wish," he stated simply.
Titus nods at Xerath, having slightly decreased hi anxiety and anticipation. Titus concentrates his cosmic energy. His breath deepens and slows. Xerath has formed an arcane shield around himself. He does not know the true depth of the arcane shield but Titus knows that it's proportional to Xerath's power.
He takes a deep breath, concentrating his cosmic energy at the focal point of the mouth. A small dimly lit sphere forms in front of Titus' mouth, actually smaller than his entirely small gaping mouth. Then like a powerful dragon, Titus breathes out a plume of cosmic flame rapidly homing at Xerath.

Xerath focused his mind solely on the cosmic flames that were now headed straight for him. Seeing it come close, he steeled his mind for the moment, of contact, and empowered the arcane barrier to boost it's resistance.
Flames collided with shield, enveloping Xerath all around him. From the outside, it looked like a gigantic sphere of flames was just sitting on the ground.
Then, the flames dissipated. The barrier was still there - it seemingly didn't take any wear or tear from the flames.
It was probably an overkill - the shield would likely have easily held anyway - but Xerath was taking no chances here. He wanted to test his defense first before he tried anything else.
"...not bad," he commented, "But you must focus your energy more; if it's scattered like that, you'll never break the barrier, no matter how much total energy you employ."
