Jon gave a broad smile upon hearing Hilde's whistle; he knew all too easy that this was a trick, and listening to the horse's direction by way of the direction it'd come from, he stayed still until the horse was just close enough, and with one deft movement, swung around in a 360 to let the horse run by him altogether.
Finishing to see Hilde approach him, he simply stands still, waiting for the swing, before ducking the blow aimed at his head and backing up a step.
"Come, you are better than to try to win through trickery... Zài shì yīcì."

"So now you employ the Ionians' martial arts." She remarked, advancing at Jon in the manner of her less showy Demacian fighting style, swinging the mace at him in a most unsubtle manner in several directions - at the neck, the sides, the knees- attempting to batter and bludgeon him into submission.
Rise forth, riders With blade, spear and fire
deliver justice upon a steed of wrath; the red dawn light our path!
To mine enemy's end I ride, to my king victory and pride
To the end of our days and hopes, to the moment evil does close!
Sing the last praise, our swords unsheathing crash into the enemy, their bodies breaking
Ride out our Ruin, Ride unto Glory, Ride for Demacia!-Cavalier's Creed

"You believed I was trying to deceive you?"Jon commented, chuckling a little.
When Hilde tried to recklessly swing at him, he simply reacted in the manner he knew best: dodging or parrying with his armored arms and hands.
Some swings, Jon just outright backed off; other times, he caught the mace by one of the spikes and repulsed it.
He had no intention of going on the offensive, but sooner or later he figured Hilde's arm had to give, unless she switched to a less burdening form of attack.

Hilde stood back, knowing her attacks were no longer working. Daisy came around for another charge, but this time it wasn't intended to trample. So far Jon had proven resilient, and with his armor would simply outlast Hilde on foot.
She caught Daisy's saddle as she rode by, and in a single move was mounted once again. She came in for another trampling attack, as well as a mace swing to the head.

Jon kept his defensive position up, wondering why Hilde stopped trying to attack him... then it made sense.
As the horse went by and picked up Hilde, he managed to get the time to reload both of his weapons. If Hilde was going to have her horse again, he wasn't going to stick to just his arms and legs to fight.
Now with a fully loaded gear rifle, he saw that Hilde was trying for another attack. This time, however, he had finally gained the confidence in his armor, and so made a few plays: he took quite a bit of time to line up a single shot, which he took, aiming for Hilde's weapon shoulder, and fired.
It was a long time, but being a marksman was a core strength of his, and it made sense. He took two more shots, and then as the horse and rider made close, he jumped to the side in an emergency maneuver.
He managed to clear the horse, but the landing was not so lucky; bouncing once, he grunted in a bit of pain as he felt his abdomen land in an awkward position. He was still definitely in the fight, but his chest was now slightly injured for the remainder.
It was a gamble play, for it'd be a bit to recover, and he didn't know exaclty how much he hurt himself in the dive, but he hoped his shots would throw her off for good.

This time, Daisy responded rather unpleasantly to the sound of gunfire, rearing up and was thoroughly spooked by it. Hilde took the shots, but they were grazing; she had to take a moment to calm her animal down.
She eventually dismounted and came over to Jon to help him up, clutching her shoulder. Were it not for her extensive protection, it would have resulted in worse injuries. All it was were a few bruises and a damaged ego.
"It seems your combination of armor and firearm is effective, and my mount cannot abide by the sound of gunfire."

Jon was on his rear end before he could do much, still rather dazed by the hard landing of his dive; he wasn't responsive until several minutes after he had already been shaken up.
Looking up towards Hilde, he slowly came to himself, only able to take deep breaths for a moment before replying.
"Well, if it were so, it was the weapons and armor that did the work, not me; it's almost certain that I'm well out of shape for just about any fight, and I've been down and out a long time ago without it." His mind now back in place, he realized his right abdomen was in pain, and it hurt to try to move on it. His knees he could not even feel; it was as if they were struck numb.
Slowly getting up, he looked at Hilde, and finally removing his helmet, nodded.
"Well fought, miss. Shall we go to the medical bay?" Normally he treated his own wounds, as well as those suffered by any opponent, but he didn't bring along his supplies this time around.

No sooner than the cavalier retrieved her horse to move off the field, did the next user come in...
...The largest gates to the arena opened to accommodate the arrival of a massive bidepal monstrosity covered in spiked plate armor, standing at fifteen feet tall with a brass helm in the likeness of a bull. Its arms were as thick as massive tree trunks and its legs doubly so. Each footstep was heavy, and its undead breathe fumed through its helm. The Brute beat its chest plate a few times and roared, bellowing, as it was instructed to.
Up above on the bleachers, meanwhile, was a young looking blonde lady in the attire of a doctor, sporting the robes of a High Command General from Noxus. She sat comfortably in her specially reserved box with protective glass as she gazed down upon the arena. Her assistant placed a table beside her, and served tea and a box of assorted glazed donuts from the Sinful Succulence.
Valeria poured herself some tea and drank, while picking out a strawberry glazed confection, taking a small bite out of it.

However, on the other side of the arena was a far less impressive sight. As the massive gates opened, a large - but nowhere near as large as the Brute - bound undead was thrown onto the sandy field, spitting the dust out of his mouth. "Oi, what's the big idea, throwin' me in here?" he called out behind him, but the gates were already closed. Sighing, he stood up and dusted himself off, looking at the monstrosity. He instantly quivered in fear.
"H-hey! What the bloody hell is that!?" he cried out, starting to almost jog back and forth. He eventually came to a standstill, wielding his single dagger out in the general direction of the Brute. "N-nice...thing...d-don't hurt the living suit of armor." He made a couple of stabbing maneuvers with the dagger.

A few moments later, the gates opened again, a lone man entering the area. Tobias walked in with a smile on his face, staring up the monstrosity in front of him. He stared at the monstrosity as the gates closed behind him, his smiles growing larger each second. when they closed, he looked down at Soul, a devilish grin on his face. "Glad yer back to the world of the wakin'; Yah were out for the whole trip. That right there; that's what we're fightin'. So why don't yah get up there and get it's attention while I get to work. Sound like a plan?"
After he spoke, Tobias' hands glowed a bright blue flame for a few seconds, as a shape assembled before him. Forming out of more energy in front of him, a skeletal horse was formed; it's frame filled with blue flame and it's bones charred black from it. A single black saddle and rein made of chains where all that displayed that the creature was to be mounted, to which Tobias soon proved by getting into the saddle. He looked at Soul from atop the horse, smiling widely as he waved his hand forward in a motion to attack, charging at the beast. "Let's go wild!"
When I hear that trumpet sound I'm gonna rise right out of the ground Ain't no grave Can hold my Body down
Valeria looked at the battlefield more closely, at the two opponents. With the aid of the Control Amulet, she verbally commanded the Brute.
"Attack the one on foot."
The Brute's head and gaze fell upon Soul, and it began walking towards him unerringly, plowing through the artificial terrain and obstacles generated in the arena.
Valeria sipped some more tea and waited to see how the battle would proceed, all from the comfort of her seat on the bleachers.
Soul looked confused for a moment. "Huh--wha?" Was his only response before Tobias took off on his horse. He then noticed the Brute coming for him. With a groan of exasperation, he began to run, struggling to keep his footing on the sandy surface. He was definitely not used to that texture. "Why the hell does this always happen to me!?" he cried as he continued to run.

Tobias had no problem on the sandy field; it was home to him, and it felt great to be there. As he charged on his horse, he let go of the reins and grabbed his guns from the holster, reading for an attack on the beast. He rode around the left side, keeping about a 15 foot distance between the horse and the creature. While it was still in sight, Tobias held up his guns and charged his right gun, unleashing a Power Shotfrom his right gun towards the creatures head, while shooting a regular shot towards hits left leg with his left gun. "Keep it up! Keep it's attention on yah!"
The shot connected, and compacted the Brass Helm of the Brute. The physical attack was bearable enough, but the spirit boosted energy left a scorch mark on the undead construct's flesh. It's rage-locked face could barely be made out after the blast punched a hole in the helm.
The regular shot was deflected by the much thicker leg armor.
Valeria rapped her fingers as she considered her next action.
"Pick up the boulder." She said, speaking into her amulet's stone. The Brute complied, picking up the nearest weight with both hands.
"Throw it at the rider." She said, having to guide it through any action that was more complex than 'kill everyone'. With its massive strength it tossed the large stone in Tobias's way, at a frightful speed.
Valeria helped herself to her second donut, this one glazed with white cream and powdered chocolate cookie.
((Dammit, stop taunting us. Just 'cause we're undead doesn't mean we don't get hungry! ))
Soul saw his attempts to distract the beast were, by and far, being ignored. Immediately in front of him, the Brute temporarily ignored him, chucking a boulder at Tobias. While he didn't trust the rider, he trusted the thing trying to kill him less. Without a second thought, he jumped forwards and latched onto the armor of the brute, hoping his Rust Body would have some effect on its thick armor.
