Swain quirked a brow in response as he drew his bishop from the king's side, down the diagonal path lined by pawns and knights, to C4, where it directly threatened Singed's knight. "Every piece serves its purpose, Chemist, in the grand scheme of things. Down to the last pawn. Nothing out of place."

He then place his how queen on c2 to protect the Knights and reinforcing even further the defense on the left side. “It is true but in life it isn’t always as simple wildcards other players I count at least other 2 white kings and 2 black ones all making their movements at the same time. But it is all being taken into account isn’t it?”

The Master Tactician's grin broadened at Singed's final words. Half in jest, half in serious inquiry, the scientist seemed to seek some further insight into his Modus Operandi. "Perhaps you misinterpret the metaphor, Chemist," he commented lightly. "All the pieces in this game are on the board already, moving to threaten, retreating to defend."
He brought a trembling hand over his D5 pawn, laid a single finger upon its head. "And here we are, watching, waiting. Biding our time for the proper moment," In a single smooth motion, he pushed D5 to C4 and lifted Singed's white pawn between two fingers. "In which to strike." He placed the pawn upon the table to his right, a glimmer of Machiavellian mirth in his ruby eyes.

“On this table yes on the world is so much more complex that is why one needs so more many yes so more many ears.” “To plan and act accordingly even I wouldn’t presume to have all the information or all the answers.”
He said as he watched trough the balcony towards the city of Noxus looking and the crowded streets full of activities.
“There are many decisions to be made as well as many consequences to accept or handle from them after all in this world you can do anything as long as you can shoulder the consequences.” He said referring to the deals they had done the night before the game As he said this took the Knight with the bishop making a meaningful sacrifice in order to weaken the center and the queens ide of the black pieces. .

The bishop was handed him--and without hesitation, he took it, knight to F6, adding a second white piece to his collection. "Eyes and ears are a valuable thing. We are fortunate to have the many we do--and moreover that they are appropriately placed. Such things are advantageous, particularly in identifying potential threats."
The Grand General leaned forward, elbows on the table, as he uttered these final words. His gaze flickered over the black queen, so far from the safety of the back lines, then back to the Chemist. They burned bright with intended implication, but Swain remained silent, awaiting his opponent's next move to elaborate.

Singed immediately took the C4 pawn with his knight menacing the black queen. “Potential dangers he? What do you think of the Void and the shadow isles? Those are some of the most immediate dangers on our path it seems.”

He held up a gnarled finger, studying the board in its entirety before withdrawing the queen three diagonal spaces to C7. Then his blazing gaze bored into Singed again; he scowled.
The general's casual air seemed to evaporate in an instant. He leaned forward over the board, growling, "Listen to me, Singed. This information does not leave your lips. There is the very real possibility that we will encounter an enemy soon against whom infantry will not suffice." Red eyes flashed with purpose. "In the coming months, you are going to make me a weapon the likes of which the Institute will not allow within its jurisdiction. You'll cultivate the project here. A laboratory and staff will be arranged to your specifications."
Burning eyes remained affixed to the scientist's bandaged face; their owner did not volunteer the details of this undertaking yet, instead measuring Singed's reaction to the proposal.

“Mmm…You will provide the place and the necessary security to make this Project secret from unwanted eyes.” He said closely examining the board looking for the best movements and combinations. He settles making the a2 pawn advance a square menacing the Bishop. “I suppose that you already have a general idea of how you want this weapon to work.” He showed himself unfazed after all many of the weapons he designed for the use on Ionia had already been banned from usage for the institute.

He smirked at his colleague's assertion of the obvious, assuaging doubts with a firm, "Of course." With a trembling hand, he retracted the threatened bishop to E7, directly before the king.
Then the Grand General interlaced his fingers before his shroud again, elbows on the table, and uttered a single word: a word that would give pause to any old enough to remember the wars, any sufficiently versed in alchemy. "Runefire."

He moved the white squares bishop in front of the king preparing it to make his move when necessary.
After that he moved from the board to “the real life war.”
“Runefire a secret of my people…a well keep one…I’m surprised that there are still records on that it has only survived as legends or myths on other countries. As always you are so well informed that it could come off as threatening”
He said it had seen with his own two eyes the destruction of all records and papers on how to prepare the dangerous substance the persecution of the masters on how to create it. All because of the horrible consequences to the lands where it was used, sterile lands contamination of air and water around the source of the fire and above all pure and simple genocide. The rune fire had won his infamy destroying military units like it was nothing.
“It survived as an oral tradition on low Zaun I can prepare it or even better formula to make it a little more stable for transportation.” “All I ask is are you prepared for the consequences? If you had unfunded bad publicity before this it will only get worse. Besides the obvious risk of a lab accident of course this is a dangerous substance and EVERY precaution is little compared with the risks.”

"Publicity? No," Swain reinforced, his tone darkly foreboding. "No one will know about this, Singed, but you and your crew." His expression grew grave, "I am knowledgeable of all the potential consequences. But it is a necessary measure," he paused, frowned, slid the black king behind a haven of pawns. "Castle kingside. Protection. Our enemies are many--and not all of them mortal men."
The Grand General resumed his study of the board, his expression again returning to that famous mask of composure, inscrutable, shrewd.

“Protection…yes a one of the two aspects of a war. But it means that a great deal of the battle will be deal on your own territory.”
Singed made a mirror move and also castled on the king’s side.
“This particular weapon “shines” better behind enemy lines mind if I design ways to better use it? After all it would be a waste to lose good soldiers because of the hazardous nature of one own weapons.”

At his opponent's assumption, The Master Tactician scowled darkly: a terrible expression of nearly inhuman fury--but only a flash. He brought his queen's bishop to D7, abreast of its brother, warning, "Do not assume such things of me, Chemist." The Grand General seemed almost affronted. "That is a tactic for which you are infamous."

Singed give a small chuckle at Swains reactions that didn’t go unnoticed to him. "I wasn’t saying that you would do something like I did on Ionia…maybe just under the most dire circumstances." “I was saying that even used by professionals this substance is more dangerous that letting Gragas alone with your booze and your food.” He advanced his pawn into b4. “There are ways to ensure that no accidents occur and to make the use without causalities simpler to the average soldier.” “Also in Ionia I did what I either was ordered to do or what was necessary. What is the sin of taking the lives or soldiers that already give up on them?”
Post by The Master Tactician on Mar 13, 2013 22:39:02 GMT -5
Swain wagged a crooked finger, then mirrored Singed's move with a pawn to B6. His mask of poise maintained, he corrected, "Not a sin, no." His gravelly voice, though quiet, rang with an authoritative note. "A waste. An error. One strategic blunder after another."
A series of hacking coughs echoed out over the balcony. After his fit, the Grand General righted himself, concluding, "Your alterations we will discuss at another time," crimson eyes flashed towards the floor-to-ceiling balcony windows, then back to The Mad Chemist. "In another place."
