Having been saved from mortality, Kayle finds herself being carried. On Volibear's shoulders, but not towards victory as it would were they involved in a League sanctioned match. This time, it was away from crippling injury. She clung to him as he trudged across the battlefield, her ransacked armor rattling about faintly in comparison to the roaring and the crackling of magic and gunfire around them.
The curse - empowered by the soul of a magically powerful voidborn creature, it seems - came out of nowhere and with unexpected effects. As long as her armor stayed on, it continually sapped her strength; energy, warmth, and life force. Never before the Judicator, whose blood usually boils by the empowerment of her righteous fury, has felt such a bitter coldness. Seeping through her bones and running towards her heart as she finds herself truly helpless and desperate for the first time.
The chaotic swirling of her vision, the overwhelming smell of blood supplemented by the taste of her own all over the insides of her mouth, all the roaring and ripping, blasting and whizzing... Thus her thoughts regarding her traitorous sister remained unnoticed in the corner of her mind.
Volibear was a little frustrated that he could not rushed though the battle-lines on all fours. He considered the idea, but as Kayle's grip on his fur grew weaker, he decided against it. It would have been counterproductive if her grip failed and in the mist of hungry voiding and friendly fire. With Kayle buckled against his shoulder, he could at least defend himself as he went close to where the medical corps. A mortar shell exploded at a distance behind him. He gave a low growl as he turned. He arrived at the camp with a hint of gratitude, as a mass of twitching carapaces were left in the explosion.
"She needs help!" Volibear barked loudly as they got closer, disregarding his own injuries for now. She also needs someone with magical knowledge as well, because nothing should have caused Kayle to crash like that...unless it was magic. The scant group of Ursine, that followed him, moved about to help against any voiding nearby. Some returned to the battlefield.

PMC Minus Independents
Well... this just got far many more levels of interesting, from what the Corps could see; the Void were now using their second wind, from what they could tell. Normally, the Medics wouldn't be concerned... but seeing that their Captain was still recovering, panic began to set in for the rest.
"Lieutenant! They're closing the distance!" Sgt. Roe shouted to Lt. Nixon, seeing the Void now come closer; the mortars weren't designed to fire this close, and one of the MG's was un-manned; Nixon did the only logical thing to him.
Running over to the MG, he went over and plucked it from the tripod, cradling it in his arms, the ammunition belt flailing in the air. Turning around, he saw the voidlings charge at Lipton, still caught with his pants down.
The next moments seemed to slow down for everyone in the Corps: Nixon opened fire with the MG cradled in his arms, doing everything in his power to prevent from screaming and crying from the intensive heat coming out of the barrel filter, his arms now becoming sufficiently blistered and burned, in some cases almost reaching the bone.
However, it did it's work; the voidlings were more powerful, but they weren't strong enough to withstand the power of the .790 caliber, and especially not at the velocity and volume of fire the MG could produce: all three voidlings that had burst through the ice wall were now dead for good when Nixon exhausted the ammunition belt.
The adrenaline rush didn't end just yet for Nixon however; the void were now closing the distance on the front, and this couldn't stand.
Running over with the MG to the stand, he motioned over Lipton, who still had his pants down and the unwanted object now sitting in his trousers, and set the MG down back on it's tripod, looking over to Toye and the other MG team.
"Alright, this is now a contingency situation! Authorized to use Prototype 'O' belts! Get them out and start firing NOW!" he shouted, so loud it seemed as if he were screaming. The teams were initially shocked by what Nixon had just ordered: Prototype 'O' rounds were the pinnacle of Piltovian bullet technology, and they weren't even supposed to be used in this expedition; however, seeing the worsening situation, they complied, brigning out the red boxes which were all labeled 'Danger! Do not use!' and the red-colored ammunition belts being pulled out and loaded into the MGs. With Nixon personally firing the 2nd team's MG, with Lipton maintaining the ammunition feed system, both MG's were now ready, and a few moments later, a fusillade of red-streaking bullets emitted from the MG's.
The initial appearance was spectacular; a shower of explosions went off across the fields the Void were charging across, with the smoke produced from the explosions masking anything the Teams could see. The booms each explosion made was almost deafening.
...almost as if to make the point, a song came to the minds of a few of the Medics that were busy treating the wounded, who saw the spectacle.
Of course, the smoke obscured what damage the guns actually did, so just how effective the new bullets were could not be figured out at this time.
Nixon's arms were now completely burnt, his uniform now essentially sleeveless, but his adrenaline rush was still flowing as strongly as ever.
Winters wasn't up, but he would be...
...and he would see the PMC through to victory.
A few of the Medics then turned around to see Volibear and Kayle appear, upon which they motioned him over.
"You two! Over here!" Cpl. Malarkey motioned them over to the operating area where a field hospital had now been somewhat set up.
"Dam, the flashes don't seem to do any better either!" Pvt. Heffron swore at the result; it didn't seem they could do much about it.
However...
...they still had an ace card...
...the MEDIGUN.
...and wasn't there something Maj. Lewis told them about his experience about charging the Sun Lady?
Heffron turned to PFC Randleman, who just stared. "Heffron, didn't he warned that it might be too much? You don't even know how to adjust it like he does!..."
"Well... better have a chance of winning than no chance of winning at all," was all he replied with, before taking out the Medigun from behind him, and calling out to Leona, moving upwards a bit.
"Hey, Leona!" was all he said before turning on the Medigun, building up the charge on the gun; it would be a few seconds before the meter was full, from which he could activate the charge Lewis had said never to use... unless it was needed.
...and they definitely needed it here. And NOW.

The dark blade clanged down onto Leona's shield, forcing her to her knees... she didn't know where this spike of power came from, but it was there. Holding back the blade with all of her strength, she grit her teeth, it's whispering words sounding like a train inside of her head; however, this did nothing but motivate the Sun warrior. Pushing up on her shield, she began to push the blade up with it, now getting onto one knee. "Hey, Leona!" She barely heard the voice of one of the medics, glancing back to him and seeing...
That gun... she simply gave the medic a quick nod before quickly turning her attention back to the knight in front of her... a slight smirk coming over her face. "I don't think the Sun is setting just yet..." She said through a haggard breath. "It's about to get much hotter." ---------------------------------------------
The Ursine heard the man, and ran over to the operating area. The minions of the Void became more aggressive towards behind him, but patience demanded his mind to focus. He set Kayle carefully on her back on the operating table. As he did so, he grimised a little, almost settling her down faster than he intended. The motion moved the jagged bent in his armor, pressing more damage his own wound that was hidden behind a section of armor. Along with the cut to his right leg, Blood slowly streamed on his right side, marring his white fur. However, his injury only looked worse than they were.
He growled furiously as he stopped someone from looking at him, "I'll be fine for now. See about her." He pointed to Kayle. "Do you have someone in the magical arts? . Something tells me she's still being weakened by it. She almost lost her grip on me several times on the way up here"

((Alright from my understanding of Runeblood's post...all the Void creatures just went poof, but we still have to close the portals.))
The inquisitors turned to the Elder Voidlings bearing down on them, but the group of inquisitors showed no fear. Their pupils aflame with white fire and rose their weapons. Some began to glow a soft white to indicate the righteous fury flowing them, while other inquisitors aimed their revolvers at the charging creatures. One of the inquisitors, Marvius (at least that is what he changed his name to after joining the Final Truth), stood among them. He was the first member Rudmed had by his side, therefore he became Rudmed's right hand man. Marvius was an older fellow, but was a strong as an oak tree with the way he wielded his Zwielhander. Rudmed always thought it must have been his Frejlordian heritage that gave him the strength to wield that monster of a weapon. Granted, he was unaware that this would be his last battle. Marvius took command of the inquisitors, upon seeing the encroaching elder voidlings he barked out orders.
"Tighten up lads! Get ready for a brutal counter attack!" The remaining 57 inquisitors tightened up their formation and had weapons ready to counter attack the void creatures. Marvius rose a hand and then brought it swiftly down, and thirty-seven gun shots rang out, firing enchanted bullets at the charging void creatures. However only 2/3's of the shots hit, and even that only brought down two of the creatures.
More than five seconds, but less than ten Marvius barked out another command, "Spread out!" Before the creatures slammed into the tight group of inquisitors, they suddenly changed formation creating gaps for the elder voidlings to charge through. Many of the creatures charged through the gap not expecting such a sudden change of formation, which the inquisitors took advantage of by stabbing, cutting, and many other types of attacks to the passing voidlings. This brought down an additional two elder voidlings due to the sheer number of attacks, the other turned and began to fight the group of righteous inquisitors.
Marvius himself stepped to the side as one of the last elder void creatures bore down on him. With a roar he swung his glowing Zwielhander at the passing elder voidling. The creature's left front leg was cut clean off, and as the creature stumbled due to the sudden missing limb, Marvius took the moment to continue his attack. He brought the Zwielhander above his head and down on the back of the Voidling's head, decapitating the creature. The second in command then turned to attack the other elder void creatures. He saw one brought down by a long sword finding a soft spot in the creature's neck. But the creature had already downed 4 inquisitors before letting out its final death groan. Marvius acted quickly and thrusted his Zwielhander at another nearby void creature, but not before feeling the creature's claws bury into his right shoulder. This did not stop the man's attack as it buried itself into the softer abdomen of the elder void creature.
However, Marvius attention was drawn to an elder voidling in particular that seemed to be the toughest of the pack. Marvius saw it knock down one of the younger inquisitors before shaking off the remaining inquisitors. It approached the younger inquisitor, obviously with the intentions of killing the young woman. Marvius let out a roar, and though his injured shoulder pained him, he brought the Zwielhander on the creature's back. However, it did not cut as deep as he hoped, as the elder voidling smacked him away with the right front leg. The older inquisitor stood quickly and swung his Zwielhander, at the now charging elder voidling's head. It connected, but the hard carapace took the brunt of the blow. The elder voidling forced the Freljordian onto his back and raised one of its front claws to bring it down on Marvius. However, the sly older man rolled out of the way brought his Zwielhander to bear once more .
"Come on! You damn monster! I'll send you down to hell, if it is the last thing I do!" Marvius roared charging the creature, which in return charged him. The elder voidling leaped up and brought its sharp and teeth on the inquisitor. Only then did Marvius realize how true his statement was, but it would be worth it if he died protecting the younger members of the order. They deserved a fair chance of living the lives they still had to live. After all Marvius had done his time, lived his life fully, but he knew Rudmed would be more than upset. However, times would change, and hopefully the Final Truth would achieve their goal...without Marvius.
With one last mighty roar Marvius thrusted the Zwielhander into the elder voidling's abdomen. He felt sharp pain as the creatures' teeth sunk into the lower part of his neck that was connected to his right shoulder and the creature's claws found their mark in both of Marvius' shoulders. But Marvius Zwielhander busted through the back of the creature. The sharp edge covered in the creature's purple blood, and at the very tip was the creature's dying heart. As the remainder of the elder voidlings were taken down, surviving inquisitors made their way to Marvius' dying body. The dying older man opened one eye and gave one last final order, "Withdraw..take the wounded and go. I have the oddest feeling that...this fight will be soon over....and tell Rudmed....I'm sorry I couldn't stand beside him once we cleansed this...world." With that his last hand fell, and a few tears were shed. But this was not the proper place for emotion, as the battle was still raging. The surviving inquisitor witnessed the void creature disappear in a bright light, and let out a cheer. They had won...but at a great cost, and for now they had wounded to carry and attend to.
----------- Final Truth Inquisitors: 30 Remaining, 10 moderately wounded, but still able to fight. 18 with light wounds, and 2 with no wounds. Withdrawing to take care of the wounds. 7 withdrawing due to heavy wounds. 20 dead from engagement with Elder Voidlings
----------
Rudmed smiled with satisfaction as the creature recoiled from the accurate shot to the eye! It seemed he would be able to blind this creature, which would allow him a significant advantage over the creature. However, in retaliation the creature spewed out some kind of gas that seemed to erode the snow it passed over. Rudmed was curious to see if the substance was flammable, but it was probably fair to say that the gas most likely wasn't. Rudmed tossed a spare bullet out into the substance, and noticed it too began to erode. This concerned him greatly, but it began to catch him. He felt the cloth that covered his skin begin to erode, and the skin underneath began to peel sickly. Dear god it was rotting his skin! Rudmed noticed that one of the few safe spots was near the Grey Knight with his suffocating aura. Though Rudmed figured that aura was better than the gas that was rotting him away.
The Grandmaster of the Final Truth charged the Grey Knight's position the snow crunching underneath his feet. His saber raised aiming once again for the Knight's back, but this time he would aim a little higher. At a more vital spot....the Knight's neck was fairly exposed, and Rudmed had his flank. Surely the beast would not be able to shrug off this blow! His pupils were burning with fury, ready to deal a fatal blow to the Knight.
-----
Rudmed: Minor injuries due to rotting, but other than that fine. Righteous fury is nearly at its limit.
Indictments: 3/6 (+1 for striking the beast's eye)
Focused Retribution: Inactive, Knight still has allies in proximity (Mount)

At first the barbarians counter attack seemed to push the voidlings back. But the creatures suddenly began to attack with great ferocity. He fought as his brothers began to die, smacking any monster than came his way.
The appearence of his king helped bolster the men's moral. Tormund gave a hearty laugh as his king cut through the swarm as he ran towards a rather bug creature.
"PUSH THESE MONSTER BACK MEN!" Tormund roared over his brothers. He then leapt into the air and brought his hammer down in a mighty swing. The force of the blow knocked most of the voidlings up, only the biggest ones kept their footing. This gave the barbarians the advantage they need as the began to push the monster back.
Tormund caught a glimpse of the large burst of light coming from the backlines as Hildebrand's spell was completed. He saw the void army dissappear, leaving only the big one Tryndamere was going for.
Still eager for battle, Tourmund ran after his king to confront the Knight.

In an instance an eruption of powerful Runeic magic shook through the land. However, their task had been done and he had been left alone by the efforts of one man. The miasma may have lingered yet but his trusted ally in this battle did not. The enemy was encroaching from all sides; however, he was still empowered by the effects that Cho’Gath had so graciously bestowed upon him.
His decrepit wings spread wide and he turned upon his heel and swung hard at Rudmed as his blade struck the exposed flesh of his neck. It carved through the rough skin but not an ounce of pain or blood showed through, he retaliated with a swing with the full intent of swatting Rudmed. In comparison, he was but an insect. They all were insects; however a swarm was still a swarm. He had left his mark at least.
Even now his life draining aura flared, stealing from those alive around him in order to help repair the damage that had been done to his body.

Tryndamere approached the now massive Void creature. As he entered its vicinity, he felt his stamina being drained. While this would weaken most men, it only enraged the Barbarian King, making him stronger. His veins bulged out of anger, the grip on his sword tightened, even though he had just arrived to the scene of the battle, he had already had enough of it.
The king did not bother trading words with the knight as he full sprinted towards him, his long and jagged blade in position to take a slash at the other worldly being.
~~~~~~~~ Tryndamere ~~~~~~~~ Health: 95% (Drained by Aura) Rage: 15% (Increased due to Aura)
Rudmed must admit he was a little surprised to see the Knight shrug off getting stabbed in the neck. He saw the knight pivot and swing with his arm. Rudmed felt the the blow connect and was knocked off his feet. There was a loud crunch in the snow as he landed on his back and rolled a few more feet in the snow. That blow stung quite a bit, there was going to be a bruise from that one for the next week or two. Fortunately, leather armor proved to be rather effective against blunt attacks.
The Grandmaster stood up and shook off his blurred vision, and the slight ringing that was in his ears. There was a blazing white fire in his pupils now that counterattack had done more than injured him. It ignited his fury too as he glared at the Grey Knight with motivation to continue fighting. Rudmed saw the famous Barbarian King rush in to attack his quarry. Not that Rudmed minded, with help the forces of Valoran would see this sinful force punished for the crimes it committed. However, how could he contribute it seems as though most of his attack had little to no effect.
However, Rudmed noticed that the Grey Knight seemed stronger than before....or maybe it was just his imagination. He had never actually fought the Grey Knight before, so what did he know? Regardless, Rudmed knew that if a blessing was bestowed upon the Grey Knight his fury would remove it! Not to mention, the Grey Knight stood alone he had no hope of defeating these champions and the remaining forces!
With that very thought in his mind Rudmed charged forward at the Void Knight, entering that suffocating aura again. His saber seemed to resonate with the fury the owner felt. The blade was eager to deal a decisive blow against the Knight. The inquisitor aimied his masterwork saber at the Grey Knight's arm. His fury empowered his strike and any blessing conferred to his target would be removed.
------
Rudmed: Lightly injures, consumed by righteous fury, suffering from aura.
Indictments: 5/6 (+1 for striking Grey Knight)
Focused Retribution: Active, the Grey Knight has no allies. Rudmed's attacks will deal 10% more damage!
The effects of the Knight's leeching was beginning to take its toll on both Medics in the vincinity. While they were both expertly conditioned to tolerate such effects, this aura was different: it was draining from them, as if intending to steal their life forces away. Neither Medic was prepared to encounter this, and Randleman dropped to a knee, the effects getting to him particularly hard.
"Argh... d--- it, that aura... now would be a very good time to use that thing, Heffron!" PFC Randleman half shouted at him, almost desperately.
"Ah... I don't know how to control the amount of power it will give, though!" Pvt. Heffron replied; Maj. Lewis was the only one who knew how to use the medigun properly. The Medics themselves had a basic knowledge on how it operated, but nothing more. If it was not kept in check, the amount of power channeling through the device might become too much for the recipient to handle... and eventually, too much for the medigun itself.
However, Randleman didn't think the cap was the real issue here. "Heffron... we're dyin' out here, for bloody sake! Just get that gun going and hope she can use it!!!" At this, he fell over, slowly fading in and out of consciousness; he was beginning to slowly lose his grip on himself.
"Randleman!!" Heffron shouted, though yet he did nothing at the moment. However, seeing his buddy now fall close to the line that separated him from the other side was enough to convince him that it was time to use the one true power he did have: the charge.
As if on cue, the medigun gave off a distinct series of 'DING!'s, signifying that the charge was now in the overcharged zone; in effect, deploying it would be dangerous. Gripping the device tightly, Heffron momentarily thought about not pulling it, as it might be too much for the recipient to handle; but seeing how dire the situation was becoming, he figured that it was stupid to argue why he should be giving less power instead of more.
"Leona! This is it - give it all you've got!!!"was all Heffron shouted in her general direction, before pulling the charge activation trigger.
The medigun's resulting massive wave of discharged energy also resulted in the device emitting a powerful blinding flash at close range, momentarily blinding him and Randleman, who was shocked back into the real world - though his health was still in in-optimal condition - from such a bright light. It took some time for both Medics to recover, and Heffron was slowly regaining his vision when he saw what the Medigun did.
The medigun was now funnelling an absurd amount of energy into Leona, almost too much for any normal human being to be able to handle... but Leona wasn't a normal human being, and to Heffron, she was the perfect vessel to instill all the raw energy the medigun was now firing into. He had heard of Maj. Lewis speaking of what she was capable of with the additional energy... he hoped that with even more, it would be enough to drive home the win.
This was it; the pinnacle of the PMC's arsenal was now going to demonstrate it's most powerful capability live. If this didn't work, nothing the PMC could do would...
Leona stood there, breathing rather heavily... Tryndamere was here, and the others. She smirked a little to herself as she watched the barbarian swing at the void knight... so many had fallen in this battle, so many unnecessary lives wasted. Leona grit her teeth in response to it all. She would put a stop to this, right now. As the strange gun dinged, Leona was blasted with it... the force of it all almost sending her to her knees. She felt much more powerful than when it was last used on her, but that only served to widen her smirk.
Leona simply walked forward, her features changing. Her hair turned golden, her eyes as well. The Sunlight had become so dense around her that where she walked, one could not tell that snow had even been there. "You say you can destroy all of Valoran... but you will never destroy what I am" Leona said, her voice growing more celestial as she spoke.
As Leona walked closer, the voidlings that were left over charged her, the lesser ones turning to ash, the more empowered ones being dealt with easily by her blade. "I am the answer to those who cry out for peace." The Radiant Dawn lifted her sword and pointed it at the void knight.
The Sunlight around her intensified, a ray of Sunlight shining over her, blinding those who would stare at it for too long. She had never used her full power to harm someone... however, this blight needed to be wiped from Valoran, for the safety of everyone. Leona dug her heels into the bare earth, gripping her blade tight and glaring at the void knight with her golden orbs.
"Ally to good, nightmare to you!" And with that, Leona took off into a sprint at nearly blinding speed. Swiping her sword at the void creature, with all of the force of Sun backing it. Together, her and Tryndamere would destroy this monster for good. -----------------------------------------------
The Void had been sent whimpering back to their dimension through the actions of the Institute of War. She dismissed it as the Institute doing their duty but little did she know it was through the actions of one with the blood of her own clan. Despite the valiant effort of the summoners the threat she was facing head on with the dawn had since grown more powerful. The aura now was beginning to take its toll upon both rider and mount, their exposure to the fiend had since become apparent.
She would not resolve herself to fall here, not when they outnumbered him. Not while she could still move and fight. This monster would be a stepping stone on her path to reuniting Freljord through her conquest. When this battle was done, he would be dead and forgotten. Others joined in, including the Barbarian King… Not her king however.
Before she had time react or even had any sense of what was occurring, something had turned Leona into what was more or less an avatar of the sun. Her body was engulfed and a blinding aura. A satisfied grin came over her, arrogance was clear upon her face as she watched her ally take off towards the Knight. The fight would be over soon enough.
