There was little that Anivia could do as she collapsed onto the medic but brace herself and attempt to prevent the sharper protrusions of her crystalline body from impaling his prostrate form. The distance of the fall was not great, and with her wings and tail splayed on the ground, she was able to prevent herself from crushing the man’s body outright. Despite her best efforts, however, the body lay broken before her.
She stood still over him, her form perfectly rigid without a hint of the thoughts roiling through her mind. Like the rest of her efforts to aid this broken world, this attempt to protect the people of the land had proven futile. Additional medics rushed in to Winter’s side, yet he had not made a single movement. His life, or death was in their hands. With a derisive shake of her head, Anivia dismissed the Lt. Nixon. Enough of their time had been wasted on her account.
Standing amongst the warriors, Anivia closed her eyes, calling out to the world in a voice that nearly shook with power. The words, never before heard in runeterra, tore through the valley, their rising and falling tones cutting through the din of battle. Yet as they faded away, the land was quiet, the tension of an unanswerable question hanging in the silence. This was not truly her world, not the tundra over which she had stood vigil from birth to death through the eons. The realization shook her to the core: here she was on her own, with naught but the power of her own body to fight this threat.
Her eyes snapped back open at the eruption of a new commotion near the frontlines. The retreating contingent of soldiers ran in her direction, hotly pursued by several elder voidlings. While she may not be of any use but a distraction to the combat medics, this was still a war. With a leap, she took to the skies once more, preparing herself to join the fray. Passing over the retreating soldiers, she unleashed a stream of power, summoning a wall of ice to block the voidlings’ pursuit as she bore down upon them. The time for defensiveness was over: the Void would pay.
Leona looked as the knight stumbled back, narrowing her eyes as he stumbled. Leona took advantage of the staggered knight and charged him once more. Thrusting her blade at him as she did so, hoping to wound him more.

The creatures that were charging towards their prey were stopped abruptly as they banged their heads against an ice wall. Disoriented for only a second, the began to claw at the ice wall in hopes of tearing it down. However, one began to start scaling the ice wall and managed to hop over. It came charging at the group, though would be easier to take down due to it's isolation. The other three were content with sitting and waiting, ready to claw them down when the ice wall melted.

Nunu Nunu grabbed snowballs and threw down the hill, the blue balls exploding this way and that with the constant barrage. Nunu leaped too the side, barely avoiding a long range void, what the hell would you call it? Jumping onto Willump he grabbed on tightly, a bag of Ice Balls in his pocket, and no annoying summoner saying he cant throw them yet due too 'League Regulations'. Laughing with glee he led the Yetis he was with into arrowhead formation, jumping with no foreseeable damages too his forces, he then proceeded to activate plan Alpha B Zeta Charlie Horse Cramp Seeing No Reason For Plan Names.
"For Freljord!" He yelled seeing Ungola on the other side. With the Yeti Horn Blower Signaling a meet up he starts a string of moves only he could foresee, dashing into the front lines with Nunu, he signals a massive organized Absolute Zero, ((as the league calls it)) he then yelled for Ungola to join them as the Freljord Units moved up, with a lot of space freed for an advance on the left side. Nunu noticed three dead bodies of Yetis who got overwhelmed as they fell. With an opening he could only hope Sejuani agreed with the loss of some anti-air support. ((Just for any Void player, or really anyone, I just triggered a Yeti group ultimate, so a giant span of the enemies, just got killed by an explosion of ice and snow.))
Ungola ROAR, The load sound of a Yeti War Cry began, as the Berserkers streamed into the Valley. With a sweep of a claw he batted five voidlings aside. ROAR, A second roar swept the valley as the rest of the group ran in. ROAR, A third roar began as they pillaged through the left side, voidlings barely able too touch them as the Yetis moved towards Nunu's position. ROAR, A fourth roar began as the Yetis under Nunu's command triggered the Ritual of Ice. The Yetis with Ungola triggered what they liked too refer too as the Ritual of Leaping over voidlings trying too get too the visible leaders of the Yetis. ((Yessiree, the Yetis are jumping over voidlings in a deadly game of leap frog, I sure hope the Voidlings are not following)) Finally they reached the newly gained Yeti Position of Left Flank. Ungola turned around and counted his Berserkers, no losses. Perfect, Ungola smiled in the Yeti's 'cold' grin.

(( A repost from the Base Camp to let you folks know what's going on. Full post is in the Base Camp Thread, but this is the stuff important to you void folks. ))
Miles away from the Base Camp, far from the edges of the fight, the portals of the Void were pumping out endless streams of warriors, all bent on devouring and conquering this land for themselves. However, above them, the clouds began to churn, faster and fast, blue, yellow, and white arcs of power arcing through the sky, until something unexpected pulsed into being. They were runic circles, floating high above the ground. For the first time since the banning of such things by the League, Rune Magic was being brought to the field of battle, all to put a stop to their invasion...
The circles spun faster and faster, before pulsing with a surge of light and power, lighting bolts crashing down, raining from the heavens to strike the portals, surrounding them with a nigh-impenetrable reversed barrier of golden light. Thunder rolled across the hills as the arcs paused and the circles faded from the sky, appearing on the ground below the portals. The Void had been cut off from their reinforcements completely. New portals would be capped by the same barriers, completely preventing them from reaching the front lines or supporting their allies. All at once, the infinite forces of the Void were no longer infinite...
However, what had transpired here was just the beginning of what was to come...

All units sans Pvt. Heffron & PFC Randleman
All the Medics here were still on their tasks, with few changes: Both Mortar Teams kept up the heavy explosive fire, Nixon and MG Team 1 changed their attention to back to the MGs, which had been left to conserve ammunition and resume firing, while MG Team 2 sans Lipton continued their monitoring of the Summoner, as well as switching to treatment of anyone else that needed to be healed. Winters was still unconscious.
The other events occuring were something to cheer for, for the blocking of the portals, the Yeti's awesome wintry destruction of the void, and the core fight in the center now somewhat swinging their way, it seemed that the fight was beginning to be won. However, there was still much to fight.
Lipton had just finished treating the bear, and had sent him off, and feeling having a very strong need to relieve himself, walked off to the far side of the ledge, and lowering his trousers, began to squat.
However, turning to his side, he noticed the voidlings coming. Scrambling, and grabbing his M2, he waddled back a bit and took aim, but then the ice wall sprung. He sighed a breath of relief until he saw one of them scramble over, and it was then that he fired; only for his M2 to jam.
Not having any other way to fight, he scrambled back to the area where the rest of the Squads were, shouting for help and to shoot the voidling, when the rest turned around and saw the rather comedic scene. It was Nixon who took action, drawing out his HEMP and lighting up the Voidling with .45 rounds.
The Voidling collapsed dead right in front of a terrified Lipton, who was on the ground, scolding the others for not shooting him earlier.
"G-- D--- it what took you guys so F---in' long!?" he shouted, before looking down into his trousers.
"Aw, s---.... I s--- myself!!!"
In reaction from the Medics was rather expected in this humorous scenario.
The effect their weapons had on the Void Knight seemed to not be as effective as they had hoped.
"D--- it!... hm, you think we should try to disorient it?" Heffron suggested.
"Sure, we'd need it anyway to try anything else," Randleman replied.
With that, the two Medics each pulled out a blinding grenade ((i.e. Flashbang)), and on the count to 3, pulled the priming pins and chucked it into the square middle of the fight.
"Flashes out!" Both Medics called out in unison, hoping their allies would have the ability to shield themselves from the blinding and deafening they would receive from the grenades.

Tormund looked at the battlefield in anger. These spineless Void creatures attacked Freljord with surprise. His rage grew as he saw the dead bodies that littered the ground. Brave and strong warriors from all over this land, fighting to save his new home from invaders while he chased bandits in a cave.
He heard his king give the command for the charge. He grinned as he unslung his hammer form his back. He would honour the warriors that fought for his land and make these creatures pay.
"FOR FRELJORD!" he roared. His fellow barbarians roared with him as they began to charge towards the battlefield. All participants in the front line would hear his cry as he and 200 fresh and ready to fight barbarians charged.
He first voidling he ran into as a large bug creature, with several limbs and as at all as him. It screeched at him menacingly, to which Tormund responded by cracking it in the head with a great overhead blow. This dazed the creature as he smashed it in the head again, it's head exploding like overripe fruit.
His brothers continued there charge. The fresh reinforcements would be bolster the moral of the fights even more after the void gate had closed.

With the mountains and lands of Freiljord being hit by a wave of pure, raw, and corrupted energy, the tides began to turn. IMMEDIATELY. Some voidlings had an extreme growth spurt from the power of the void. Many voidlings had turn into older ones, like the ones that were fighting the PMC's. However, they were stronger than ever, and it would take A LOT more to take them down.
The three that were still fighting the PMC's had felt the surge of power. They let out horrifying roars, enough that could probably make Lipton have TWO unwanted objects in his leggings. They immediately charged, breaking down the wall of ice in seconds. They charged at the PMC's in a frenzy, and weren't going to stop because they were being shot at. Now, it was like they didn't feel pain at all.
Many were killed by Nunu's organized ultimate, but with the new wave of voidlings, the numbers would be replaced. Now, elder voidlings, Void bombers, and voidbarians began to charge at Nunu's Honor Guard. Their vicious claws would leap at anything to latch onto whilst their fellow suicide bombers would explode when they would be given the chance to get close, as their goo that they'd release would burn their flesh.
When Rudmed's inquisitors rushed the voidlings, they were taken down with ease. Now the challenge would come with the stronger elder voidlings. They bolted to the inquisitors and leapt forward, mouth open with sharp teeth, and claws ready to impale. Of course, they could just impale their insides, but them they'd have large voidlings with crushing weight on on them. Then again, these creatures cannot be taken down so easily.

The shot was lined up well enough and shot the beast mid charge. Bullet scrapped across the hardened flesh around the eye and the imbedded itself into the beast. Violet blood ran down the socket and then the beast stopped and imbedded itself within the ground. Angered and in pain the creature let out a shriek and then expanded its maw wide. A pestilent breath broke from its mouth and filled the air before it immediately as it crashed towards Rudmed and all around. The ever cold ice and snow beneath their feet eroded away as would flesh and cloth and most armor it encountered. The Knight seemed sparred from it as it encroached quickly.
As the sky blackened and the beast was amplified by the sudden surge of energy. Its size increased and its muscles pulsated. His eyes glowed with an increasingly violent violet energy; the beast hide became thicker, rougher. However, the creature was no engulfed in a violet energy. “…I’ll crush your bones before this is done.” It snarled out, half of its word gargled as it became intoxicated with its new found power.
Leona’s blade sunk into the Knight’s grey flesh, raking across as he recovered from Sejuani’s assault. He clung to a single weapon yet with a vice grip. In retaliation he swung out at Leona. His blade glowed violently with a foul and most unholy energy. Whispers could be heard about the weapon as it came down upon Leona and her shield. The weapon connected and a voice screamed at Leona.
“YOU LET THEM DIE! YOU FAILED TO PROTECT THEM!The images came flooding back, each one who fell in battle. Her own duel. The cruelty of Rakkor Society. Blame screamed at her.“YOU FAILED THOSE CHILDREN! THEY’RE DEAD!”
The sky darkened and just as the others had seen with the other Void, the Knight was empowered by the Void. Is aura became stronger, his presence over baring. His eye glowed brighter. The fight had just turned ill for the two champions as his new strength became apparent. Worse yet, a terrifying truth became apparent.
A light enveloped him where it had not enveloped his mount. He was not from the Void but had given himself to it.
“Go quietly into the Darkness. Let the sun set. No one will blame you.”
The Knight and the Mount paid no mind to the encroaching flash-bangs. But when they detonated they seemed to have some of an effect. With as much chaos going on all about them, time would tell if the bright flash of light did more harm than helped.[/color]
“Accusation that silences and deafens.” “Deeds that leave lasting wounds and stain the soul.”

The battle for Freljord seemed to be taking a turn for the worse, even with the barbarian chieftain reinforcement squad. The Void's forces rapidly grew once again thanks to the re-opening on of the portals. Not only were there more to fight, but recent events empowered them and made them more resilient. Moral was low, fatigue had set in, all seemed lost. "DO NOT GIVE IN BROTHERS, FIGHT TO THE LAST BREATHE. FOR FRELJORD!"
Tryndamere's voice could be heard as he run straight into the battle, cutting down any and all Voidlings that got in his way. As he passed by his and allied soldiers, they looked to be rejuvenated and their spirit seemed to have returned to them. It was as if Tryndamere gave off an aura of lasting moral as he ran by. Though the king barely noticed the barrier around him now, no Voidling living long enough to raise its claws against him. Ten, twenty, thirty, forty, fifty Voidlings fell to Tryndamere's blade, each one empowering his body with rage. The King quickly approached the Void Knight, hoping to take out the one who seemed to be in charge first.

((Note, no additional portals were opened as a result of Cho'Gath's actions. As such, the influx of additional voidlings on the battlefield has ended. Those that remain (and there should be many), however, have been empowered by these recent events, and ought to be treated with a significantly more respect with regards to their durability and offensive prowess. As always, let me know if there are any questions.))
“Forgive me if I have to throw you on my shoulder…these things never seem know when to quit.” Volibear commented, as he roared again to scatter the voiding away. “And for my roar…” He continued to carry Kayle deep into the back of the front-lines, hopefully to the medics camp. A few of the surviving Ursine inched closer in their fighting to give him some cover. It gave him a moment to realize the golden aura around the two.

The artillery kept the enemy at bay as the Preserver forces stood strong. Things were going well enough until the sky darknened and hell broke loose. All focus was put into holding the line and keeping the enemies at bay. For some in the ranks…the mere presence was too much and they fell. Dying due to the madness that came with Cho’gaths empowerment. Those who weren’t manning the cannons were beating back the newly empower Voidlings.
His sights were became focused upon the Winter Claw tribe, his eyes fell upon one of the summoners in their ranks and drew his attention with a hard pat on his shoulder. “Send me the village. They need me.” His hand drifted to his radio. “…Williams. You’re in charge. Hold the line. Do not let them over run them. We can win this despite how grim it looks.” As he spoke his body became enveloped in a yellow light, the Summoner was working his magic.
